A (probably) very silly question

I have a question that's been on my mind for a while. Those of us who take large core shots know the problems with ptex, baswield, expo, etc. You pop out an edge, so you clamp it back in, epoxy it in place. But of course the ptex won't stick to the epoxy and edge that well, so you put in some basewield , then ptex.

Theoretically would it be possible to drop small fragments/particles of of ptex into the epoxy resin before you put it in your skis, which would allow a straight bond between epoxy and ptex?

This should also generate more surface area for the ptex?

What do yall think?

Update: I have done the 1st stage of the job. Now justwaiting for epoxy to set (48 hrs) before i know how well it has worked. photos of stage 1 will be up soon will be up soon.
 
stuff I used:

ptex

150kg epoxy

lighter

knife

plastic container lid

grease proof baking paper

tooth picks

small paint brush

drill press vice
 
step 1:

I had already put in the 1st layer of epoxy a few days ago to hold the edge in, so I cleaned out the excess epoxy and got a nice base for it to bond to
 
step 2:

Melt ptex onto the plastic lid, then scratch it off with the knife so that you get the small fragments you need.
 
step 5:

sprinkle more ptex on top of the new layer, rub it in with baking paper, remember to keep it on a low profile so you still have room for the final ptex fill.
 
step 6:

clean it, clamp it, post on ns and wait for it to set.

sorry for the bad photo quality, kind of hard to take photos when you have epoxy on your hands.
