A message to all of the raffle sales....

Hey guys, as someone who sort of helped initiate the recent trend in raffle sales on NS, I feel that it is only the right thing to post this in order to warn you all.

Today I got hit with an email from paypal stating that my sale on Newschoolers was in violation of the Acceptable Use Policy. Long story short, paypal does not condone the use of its services for raffles of any kind. As a result I have had to delete my raffle sale thread on NS, re-do the Acceptable Use Policy, and my paypal account is "limited" for who knows how long. Granted, I can still send and receive money while it is in its limited state, if the information I submitted is not accepted by paypal then my account could be terminated and I would lose all the money that is currently in it.

Don't make raffle sales. I thought it was a fun and creative idea and it was, but it does violate paypal policies and it WILL get you in trouble. Unless you can figure out some other money-collection system, I would avoid raffles on here entirely.

It's people paying you small amounts of money how does it know what your actually doing?
 
the email literally contained a link to my raffle thread here on NS

i guess the small amounts of money raised a flag and someone from paypal went digging through the worldwide web to find out my NS account and the raffle. shits crazy.
 
PayPal makes everything so easy and so very hard! Thanks for the heads up man.

Add to this the fact that people ask fpr gift payments. PayPal catches on if you send and receive a lot of gift payments and slap you with the limited account. Just add the 3.4% or whatever it is.
 
So do i get my 2.50 back... or are you just gonna finish the raffle on the jungle cat, because i feel like i got kinda screwed here
 
TO ANYONE CONCERNED ABOUT THE JUNGLECAT.

i'm still waiting on like 6 votes worth of money to arrive in the mail.... but i've been waiting for a while and haven't received it. if it doesn't arrive within the next few days i will kick the individuals out of the raffle, do the drawing, and in the event that their money arrives after the drawing, i will send it back to them.
