I guess, to write my little love letter to the midwest...

The Upper Penisula of Michigan is one of the coolest places in the country. I've spent a good chunk of time out west, and I love it there as well, but it's hard to think of a place where in the late fall you can ride some top tier mountain biking trails, go skate, go ski and then go surf all within a 15-minute driving distance while breathing clean air that's not tainted by wildfires or smog. There are not many people, housing is dirt cheap, there are beautiful landscapes, some of the most awesome fall colors and some of the best sunsets in the country. You really are out in the wild and it's great. The Upper Penisula is just...different.... from the rest of the state and the country. It's a unique place and you can't really complain about living on one of the largest bodies of fresh water in the world...that you can also surf on.

I am by no means a great filmer or editor, but scraps has meant a lot to me over the years. My two buds that got me into filming and surfing really pulled me out of a rut I had kinda gotten stuck in with life. There are always ups and downs, and it felt like there were a lot more downs but this gave me something to focus on instead of what had me feeling down. I was super burned out with most of what I was doing so yeah, scraps, the midwest, and all the great people involved really helped put my life on a positive path. It will never be enough but I hope making these vids sorta gives that back in a way. Hopefully NS and youtube will still be around in 10 years and this can be something that the gang can show their kids and be like "yeah, this is the crazy shit I was doing when I was 22".

Anyways, at risk of sounding cliche, it's never really over. We are all headed our separate ways but I'm sure there will be more scraps to come

Alright, now enjoy some midwest pictures

I think it's unfortunately already headed in the direction. I know Marquette has a housing crisis right now. Literally just not enough places for people to live that want to move there, so it's been ugly modern apartment after ugly modern apartment down there recently.

THEN DONT POST ABOUT IT
