Alright I'm gonna do this bullet form, and please read it!

- I ski in the east coast of alaska

- 50 inches of snow on a usual year, but at least 1

time a year I take a trip out to alyeska to ski a real mountain with decent

snow (850 inches of it).

- I ski 2 "hills" typically

- A 800ft vertical park, skied 90% of the time

- Whenever there's powder/fresh snow a 1100ft

vertical hill that actually has decent terrain with little drops and some

steeps and trees. Its fun, but shitty most of the winter.

- I am:

- 125lbs right now, growing, strong for my weight

- 5' 7.5, 15 years old

- I love powder more than anything, but then jumps,

after that rails, and the best is jibbing the rare powder I get. Realistically

I'm a park rat that would take fresh snow over a perfect park any second. I'm

what you'd call a level 3 skier, and next season hopefully will progress ALOT.

- I like:

- This year I rode 06-07 172 Line Blends, and I loved

them. I can't really complain about them except that they were heavy, but I

really liked their stiff flex for everything except flatground jibs but

whatever. I want a similar flex for my next ski. Now though, 172 is too short,

but I'd like something similar because I like a wider, stiffer, and more stable

ski. I need to be able to trust my ski and have it save my ass when needed.

I'll be mounting these skis with undecided bindings 1-2 cm back from true

center. I also like a light ski, but it isn’t a necessity just a desire.

- I am considering currently:

- This is where I need your guy's help. I'm undecided

as to what ski I want. Next years Line Blends sound reaaaaly nice, but I

don't know enough about them yet (flex????) and so do Moment Tahoe's,

but again I'm not sure about their flex yet their lightness attracts me, but

their durability kinda scares me. I have also looked at Rossi Scratch Brigade/BC skis, but meh not too stoked on it. A

foam core doesn't bother me as long as its stiff because their light, and I

cannot demo skis. I can only get 1 single ski for the season, so unfortunately

no quiver :(

-Size: This is also where I am not sure. I need

something longer than 172 for sure, so high 170's is what I need, I think. But

since I'm getting a wider ski and skiing it in the park mostly, will it work?

The Moment Tahoe's come in 180, next years blends in a 178/179 i think, and

around 178 for the rossi. So not quite sure about that either :S

Lets hear your ideas/opinions! Whip out some skis that would work for me!

And sorry for anything I missed, call me out on it. +++ karma for anyone that helps out

I have to say Tahoe's man. The durability should be wayy better next season and the ski seems so perfect for what you want to do!

i was looking at the 09 blends the other night and there a little softer that the k2 extremes i know its not the best comparison but there the two skis i was comparing side my side they look really nice im considering them myself hope that helps in some way catch ya

im going to suggest a ski that isnt on your list.

the rossi scratch wrs, ive got this ski and it kills everywhere, its super light so it shouldnt be a problem for a guy ur size, but its big enough to charge. i had them and they were my charging in pow ski, and i had only skied them in powder until i broke my binding on my park ski and rode them at bear mountain, CA. bear is an all mountain park if you werent aware and this ski absolutely kills it in park. i could see this as being my next park ski, but it still absolutely slays the hole mountain, i ski at mammoth alot and this ski is great for bombing down groomers, switch or regular, handles pow great and at 125 pounds this ski will float you great. and its so solid on the jumps, this ski is probably the most versatile ski ive ever rode.

previous skis i had are line chronics, fischer addicts, line skogens, some blank ski (pretty noodley), and i demoed hellbents (hellbent is more fun and very versatile, but this ski handles better on hard park)

I am also going to recommend one that is not on your list. the salomon teneighty thrusters. your size of ski would prolly be good at 170. the ski is sick in powder, is very light, and jibs very well. and if youre looking to spin this ski is amazing. the balance that this ski has is incredible. i strongly recommend this ski

It depends on how much you are willing to cough up. I think the Volkl Bridge is a perfect ski for what you want, 92 waist, good sidecut, stiff and strong, but still performs pretty well in the park. I definitely loved the Scratch Brigade when I had them, but are a bit damp for the park if you are mostly a park rat. The Line Prophet 90 and 100 are both awesome, but neither is really a park ski. There are so many options for you...

170 is way to short, thrusters are not good in pow, they are light though. Thrusters are a bad choice.

I would say maybe ARV's, they are like 95 underfoot at the larger length, not heavy and have a medium stiff flex. THose should fit the bill.

haha...u mean u've ridden some noodly blank ski?

yea i forgot ARVs. so kung fujas or ARVs. i've heard bridges can be meh in the park sometimes, but if u can afford them go for it.

Yeah its medium stiff. supper solid underfoot. Ask garret. They put some other materials and are lighter and more stiff and poppy since had his though.. It is lighter than any ski that has been listed here yet. Probably comparable to the fs wrs which by the way is definitely not going to hold you up in the pow. Not AK pow atleast..

isnt that what i said?

in case you are miss understanding what i said, when im talking about a blank ski i mean it in the same since as a blank skateboard, it doesnt have a graphic and is just pressed by any random company as a cheap alternative

I would suggest looking into the 2008/2009 Line Blends like you were thinking (it's coming in a 178), or the Dynastar Big Trouble (176).

This coming year's Blends ski a little damper than 06/07, and with a bigger size in the presses you should find the stiff flex you're looking for with the added length. 100mm waist.

The Big Troubles are definitely a heavy ski, but I think it has one of the best overall flexes in the game. The 176 skis that big in the powder, but with how quickly the tail starts to turn up, it skis more like a 174 in the park (I'm thinking you might like that feel). 92mm waist.

Hope this helps.

reno rockers they have a rocker for powder and there waist with is small enough for ice but big enough for powder but you might wash out on the jumps because of the rocker

i would do the blends. the ski is so killer. flex is good and clean, and still jibby but stiff enough to slay the whole mountain.

outside that, i would do the arv's or kung fujas. the kung fujas is gonna be the softest of the three, but any of them would rule

kung fujas or reno rocker would be killer skis for you maybe even the faction wednesday or surface watch life. the wednesday is 92 underfoot and watch life is 85-90 underfoot depending on the size you get

Name more then!

So far I'm the most intrested in the 09 blends and 09 tahoe's, but the arv's (although might be a tad soft), volkl bridges (did the 09 models get fixed cause I know there were durability issues?), and kung fujas all sound pretty good too. Anyone got more review on any of these or other similar skis, especially next years models? thanks guys!
