this video is more about semiotics than anything. all its saying is that the symbol of a given religion is arbitrary. as the video is supposed to instill, we don't feel any attachment to the watercan signifier, thus it feels empty. much like how a crusifix or any religous symbol feels to an atheist. however, for a someone who is religous, its the meaning that they instill into this signifier is what makes it significant to them.

And the reason this video resonated with me is because i am, by family, a christian, specifically a catholic. I do not fit the stereotypical imposing and self-righteous catholic persona but i do, like all other Christians, hold the cross in holy regards. This video enlightened me as to what an atheist or man of other religion might think of watching someone put faith into an arbitrary object.

The point of this thread was not to perpetuate the on going debate over atheism/religion.

Also please don't clutter my thread with your stupid seal shit.
