Hey guys, if you have 5 minutes, i'd love you to check out and share our mission to climb and ski Mt Ossa in the most southern state of Australia (of all places).

It didn't go to plan...

Nice. You walked for 6 hours and then turned back, but how far away from the hut were you, where you presumably were going to sleep that night?

Tips for next time. 50 gal trash bag. Put over the pack and keep gear bone dry.

But still a cool story.

I dunno if I'd call myself a 'ski mountaineer' if I couldn't make the walk to the hut.

Yeah, I had that thought. It's interesting that in years gone by, you had a swathe of rugged Aussie "bush men" with real survival skills doing multi-day treks around Australia and in the outback. Now you you have groups of hipsters doing day trips that are really covert Toyota advertisements. Can someone please correct me where I am wrong....

i feel bad for the chick with the salomon rockers and the guardians. for anyone whos done something similar its quite a bit of weight

Why did they need touring setups? Seems like they could have just hiked though the super deep 2 inches of snow without a problem. If it was going to be a couple day trip, where they stayed in a hut why did they need so much gear? Also they should have had something better than what looked like all season tires.
