A drone almost landed on a World Cup skier

Pretty close call. Could have potentially ended up really bad had it landed on/ in front of him instead of behind him.

Expected to see one of these fall down.

I was originally against this registrar being implemented but seeing some of the idiots who are buying them I'm starting to think it might not be a bad idea.

Fuckin drones, saw one hit somebody at a skatepark this summer, those things are annoying

This clip looks like something just went horribly wrong. If this was at the world cup then the pilot was most likely professional and the situation was out of his control. It's when little dipshits use them. They screw around with them and use them for bad like spying on their neighbors and shit. Then the FAA has to make new laws that fuck us filmmakers (who use them responsibly) over. The retards of the world are what gives drones such a bad name.

Like this retard

FIS now states that all drones must have a turn radius of at least 50m and be at least 180cm in length...

But really, that looked like several thousand dollars crashing into the ground, so probably not some noob flying it. Did it just go full kerbal and lose lift or what? Watch, there's gonna be some regulations about flying drones over ski areas, or at least over competitions and race areas now.

Someone was flying a drone around on opening day and making it hover a few feet over a rail, then he'd fly it away when a rider hit the rail so he could get the dope shot bro. I told him that he should be flying it further away from people who were riding for safety but he kept doing what he was doing. So I simply cursed him out bad enough that he just left.

My favorite drone story was when one was flying at a rail jam last year and a snowboarder shot it down with a rubber band first try. Absolutely hilarious.

So you're saying that even in the hands of a professional they are uncontrollable and dangerous?

drones can get sick shots and are beggining to replace helis, which is a good thing because those pollute mad

i was litterally just about to make a thread about this...

I heard in the midwest this year resorts have to make specific rules on drone use, i wonder if it will effect any of the filmers out there

I worded that wrong... I meant that something probably went wrong with the technology or something and it's a technical error. I'm defending the human pilot rather than the machine in this. These problems will only occur less and less often as technology develops. Eventually the only time anything bad will happen with them is when idiots use them the wrong way.
