A bit desperate...

So I'm from Ohio and haven't even seen snow since early march and I'm flying out to Colorado June 22. Is there anywhere that has snow that I wouldn't have to hike super high for? If so where at. If so is it worth me bringing out my shred sticks? Thanks for the help!

It's all hiking. I do some spring/Summer BC, but it all involves several hour hikes.

Well, there's that 4th of July Bowl at Breck, but i've never been there.

im not sure if they still do it but you used to be able to ski saint mary's glacier or you could do some sand dune skiing

terrible snow year is kind of limiting possibilities as this point. if you can find it, shred it!

you can but i just wanted to point out that it's not actually considered a glacier because it doesn't move.

if it doesn't move it isn't a glacier.

Bad snow year and one of the hotter springs has meant snow is rapidly melting.

However there's always places to go....if you want less than a half hours hike St. Mary's or 4th of July Bowl are probably the two best, see easiest, options.

might as well... nothing epic, but you could put some snow together and have some fun. I would say the glacier is ur best bet.

i was just at rocky mountain national park. you could ski the glaciers there but it's a long hike to get to them.

i know we all love skiing but it is summer and Colorado has just as much if not more to offer in the summer. Go hiking, biking, fishing, dirtbiking, or something

Although its true that the snow is melting fast there are still several good options out there, so don't worry. I would put St. Mary's glacier pretty low on the options. It all depends how much you want to hike. Jones Pass is probably the best option for minimum hiking. Pretty much every step from the car can be skied on the way down, and it has way better snow and terrain the St. mary's glacier. Basically, St. Mary's glacier is flat and it even requires a short (20 min) hike before you even get to the snow. BTW St. Mary's is not a real glacier. Also consider Skyscraper Glacier (also not a real glacier) steep terrain with easy car access although you will of course have to hike back out. Trail ridge road also has lots of options close to the road. Sundown bowl is a sweet and kinda steep run off of trail ridge road with 5 min walk to the snow, but you will have to hike back up as far as you ski down. Feel free to PM me with any questions.
