A Basin Parks

I'm driving up to A Basin a week from today. I was just wondering if their parks are still open and if so, what sort of condition are they in? Do they have a decent jump line? Any cool rails/boxes?

I'll be riding everyday from the 1st til the 24th or so...hit me up if you're gonna be around.

The park is ok, but hey at least summit county still has a park open. There are a lot of snowboard features with pole jams and super small lips onto rails, but you can definitely still have a good time there.

Dub post. It is supposed to get warmer so things could deteriorate, but it's worth noting that at this point the whole mountain is amazing. East wall is almost fully open and montezuma and pali have great snow.

I was riding with skiandlax7 and agree with him. The park was built for boarders but if you can hop up high enough or ride onto some in ground pole jams youd have fun. The east wall is now completely open and thats what ill be skiing along with some hot laps through park.

It's ridiculous that they won't build a couple of medium jumps for the end of the season. Abay used to have a pretty good set up 5 or 6 years ago. Thank god I'm in Mammoth right now hot lapping the best park ever, but it would be sweet to have a something a little closer to the house for the next month.

going up this weekend with most of the goons that just posted above me and the park is average but A-bay is so fun right now. lots of fun side hits and banked tree runs. you wont regret it.

long range forecast says it is supposed to stay pretty cold and there might even be a chance of snow the first week of May. bummer that there are no jumps but hopefully the conditions elsewhere on the mountain will hold up. from what i can gather, it seems like East Wall is where its at.

The hike is about 20 minutes up some pretty steep stuff but there's little steps or footholds built into the snow so not too bad

their park is built by a bunch of boarders who suck at snowboarding. ski the east wall or pali and make your own park.

I'm pretty sure one of the park crew is a skier and on newschoolers, but yeah their park has always been sub-par.

mountains with decent terrain can get away with it

it just sucks when conditions on the mountain are no good.....i know i can always seek refuge in the park even when conditions are dismal elsewhere on the mountain.

Everyone needs to go to their Facebook and very politely ask for some fucking jumps. I 'm not asking for A51, just a couple of Medium kickers.

Maybe it has to with the fact that they aren't allowed to make snow after december 31st (which is the actual reason)
