A basin opening date?

When it gets cold....

It amazes me that people think a resort has an opening date of say, November 1st, and it is like automatic, no problem, be open on that date....

Can do what? Pick an opening date out of their asshole 8 months before to get their budget together?

Yeah, every resort does that. Does that mean anything to the actual opening date? No.

It does for breck, keystone, vail, and I assume many of the other big corportation-owned resorts...

But were talking about abasin one of the two or three places in the west that tries to open first. Lots of resorts always open Thanksgiving weekend or the weekend before/ weekend after no matter their snowpack. Abasin and Loveland open whenever they get men made snow to stick.
