960p Advantages?

Any advantages to shooting in 960p over 720p60 on a Gopro?

nothing honestly... Maybe how you get a wider field of view but you can do 960 on a 1080p gopro anyway... Also when the screen comes out you will not be able to use it on a 960

960 is actually better for POV because it gives a taller perspective. however, there is no advantage of the hd hero 960 over the regular hd hero

I've got the HD Hero and usually use 720p. Just seeing if there were any advantages other than being taller, but doesn't seem like it.

if you use 960p and 720p in the same edit it will be weird because little bars will show up on the sides when it's 960p footage to make up for the lack of widescreen.

you can fix that by cropping to 120 with the 960 clips

And then you end up cropping out the extra view that you get over 720, so therefore there is no advantage to 960

not true. don't crop the clip, just stretch it. then you get all the view of the 960 at a size that fits with your 720 footage
