'95 was a good year..

..in Hip Hop. Just like much of the early 90's, 1995 was a year that produced some of the most unbelievably banging tracks that continually stand up to the test of time, regardless of a constantly changing popular culture. Even today, some of the tracks that were released over 15 years ago continue to be some of the most ill, and straight up 'G' songs used in numerous edits today. Many of these featured songs, most often by Nas, Biggie, Any and ALL of the WU TANG CLAN, determine a good 95% of how 'gangster' a skier is perceived (unofficial fact). Yet not many people know where or how the music that creates this vibe was formed, or the history behind it. For all of the youngsters out there who may not know the history behind such raw influential hip hop power, we've decided to write up a list of some of the best albums of '95.Read, Download, Listen, and Study up.

Recent Example | Even though this is Outkast from '94, this edit is a prime example of how dope the hip hop was back in the 90's...Big ups to Paul B for the shredit.Slushyparkalisticadillacmusik from Paul Braunstein on Vimeo.

And the next time you sit down to watch the most baller Hip Hop shred edit, take a moment to reflect on the soundtrack...and maybe why it isn't Lil' Wayne...

Honestly look at the list of albums, CLASSICS, can you imagine that many quality rap albums coming out in a year today? Nope, instead SOULJABOY.

Hip-Hop was in its prime around '95. I'd say the best Hip-Hop is from '90-'96 so many good albums and songs. These are just a few that came to mind right off the top of my head. There are many many more albums and singles that kill it from this era of hip hop. All the little wayne bullshit you hear today sucks ass comparativly.

This thread is A+ material. Anyone and everyone who enjoys Hip Hop needs to learn up on their history and understand where it came from, starting with Kool Herc and Bambaataa.

thats all fine and dandy... but there werent twin tips or ns in 95. sooooo we have a problem. skiing aside, hip hop has definitely digressed since 95
