90's Kids

Reading through this I got remembering lite-brite but couldn't remember it's name. Then when I seen it, joy. I had so many good feels as a kid, stabbing that paper with those little pegs. Then when you removed the paper, the backside where the pegs had poked through felt so funny. Then the disappointment when you ran out of paper. Oh god, to be a child again...

it's like I've always thought:

there has never been a generation that has gotten so nostalgic over stupid stuff at such a young age as those born in the 90s.

Half this shit is still around, only you aren't 7 years old anymore, so you don't want it and don't care.

All I know is I BEGGED my parents for zoo books and Nickelodeon mag when I was a kid.

One of my favorite memories as a kid was getting me, and my best friend to convince his little brother to go on the tramp with moon boots while my best friend and I would give him a double bounce so he could get super high. We got Charlie so fucking high in the air, but idk how he kept moonshoes on, especially on a tramp. Needless to say it worked, but he broke his arm after like the 5th bounce because he flew off the side.

Today he's the most righteous skier I know

Im so glad im not a kid anymore, and im also glad i did not experience most of these things, skittles gum? Wtf who even wanta that, all this makes me think.of is sitting in my bedroom by myself wishing i was older, and now i am.

Also Boy Meets World was an awesome show. And mad minutes were the proudest or the worst moments in elementary math class. gonna go on 1channel and watch boy meets world now

Actually, thank you for this. You've reminded me of my awkward but very awesome childhood. I truly miss some of that stuff!

It's because our generation was before the big technology and Internet boom with cell phones and everything. Our childhood toys were mostly mechanical and simple. And many required imagination.

Fucking honestly i ate a jar of those things yesterday.

I was born in 92 and remember almost all of this shit but i feel as if the majority of it was experienced in the early 2000s. So much of this stuff is still around. Trix, pretzel stix, floam, tech decks?

Razor scooters are more popular now then they ever were back then.

Damn, that car mat took me back. I remember playing in the family room while my parents watched Hockey Night in Canada and them telling me to keep my engine noises down.

Or that castle and Street Sharks, my neighbour and I used to play that everyday at his house with other action figures. He's still one of my best friends to this day and we're in college. Crazy.

I used to have a car mat in my room haha. Played with that all the time. And I also remember playing that Velcro catch. Went through a lot of those things.

Yeah same here, same with that giant ass set of felts and crayons stuff, drew so much back then.

yeah the pretending to miss toys is annoying, what you'll spend 2 corny mins pretending it is cool? plus try watching so old 90's tv, and pretend like you dont change it in seconds.. Even hey arnold looks like ancient time quality. plus uhhh now I like shows targeted for ya know people over 21

I am just holding on to the 90s via the alternative rock... Goo Goo dolls, matchbox twenty and Summerland (everclear headline) Cant wait. Last year was epic

I don't know about that. You've just weren't around to see previous generations when they were our age. Ten years from now, all the kids who grew up in the swagyolo generation will probably get nostalgic over shit like Call of Duty and the first iPhone the same way "90s kids" get nostalgic over all the shit in these types of threads.

true, I'm just basing that off other people of older ages that I know. I think the internet makes it worse because you can google an item and have a million pictures of it.

The only thing from the (very) early 90s that I can never find was this electronic drawing thing that connected to the TV, so you drew on the pad and it appeared on the tv. All I remember is the pad itself was red, white, and blue

8 years from 92 to 2000......definitely still shitting my pants and asking for bottles at age 8. It was a long rough childhood lemme tell ya

By the time you were old enough to use most of the things pictured in the OP, the 90s were already over. The "real" 90s kids were born in the mid 80s. I don't even really consider myself a 90s kid and I was born in '88.

nope, but the name vtech just put me on the right track

the vtech master video painter. It was amazing, and I don't think I know anyone else who had one.

I was born in 87. This list is appropriate. And Barto, I concur, street sharks were the shit. So was the live action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies. If anyone here hasn't seen that shit fire up a joint and get to it. You don't know what you are missing.

You mean 96', and that doesn't mean that I don't recollect any of this stuff. A bunch of this shit was created in the 90's and carried over into the 2000's. Just because you were born in the 80's and can remember these things better doesn't mean 90's kids didn't interact with them as much or have a lesser impression of this stuff compared to people born in the 80's.

Why am I even arguing about this right now?

Halfway through the 90s would be midnight on New Year's Eve from 1994-1995

First half:

1990

1991

1992

1993

1994

Second half:

1995

1997

1998

1999

I'm glad we cleared that up.
