9 Queens Highlights

Sweet edit, such a cool vibe!

If Nine Queens continues, it will be the most important contest of the year for both snb and freeski.

Looks like a perfect event, does Nico Zacek organize this as well? Or are Nine Queens and Nine Knights independently from one another?

Nico is the event founder and one of the organisers of the event. Same goes for Nine Knights MTB.

this was awesome. i wish they showed more full tricks instead of just slowmo mid air grabs before cutting to the next shot.

lisa zimmerman is one of the only female skiers whose poise and confidence on rails and jumps matches that of a professional male

Was that last hit a sw dub 10? Or just a wobbly sw 10?

And good to see at least 1 dub come out of that from the snowboarder chick. About time

Intro had me confused but then I got super hyped! Whoever is behind the 9 kings/queens/knights stuff has got to be part photographer or something, everything is so aesthetically pleasing. The MTB edit from last year is still one of my all time favorites.

wtf why are female skiers so far behind males? I mean, in gymnastics women are almost doing the same tricks as men.

Not this again...

Yesterday was a rare pow day in our otherwise snowdrought season in the PNW. I, like most of you, got in line early enough to be in one of the first Gondola cars. This means I got to stand around for an hour staring at the mass of other skiers eagerly awaiting their chance to ride some pow. What did I see? From my vantage point I could glimpse around 30ish skiers, the ones in line closest to me. I was the *only* woman. Think about that for a moment.

Also we already debunked the gymnastic thing. Women do routines with music focused more on artistic expression, men do pommel horse and parallel rings, etc, feats of strength and endurance, the two different styles and events are not comparable.

how does this affect how you ski?

It doesnt affect how she or any other woman skis as an individual, I think she is saying there are simply more men in the sport. With sheer mass comes more opportunity for talent and it also creates more of a competitive vibe.

true, but I mean in the olympic gold medal for slope style, she fucking straight aired one of the jumps and 540'd the other one

I cant argue that the straight air is pretty lame

What straight air are you talking about?

And don't get off topic, it was a sick women's only event, appreciate it.

I'd say it was a little more than a wobble, the head definately dropped twice so I'd call it a sw dub 10 that just doesn't go completely inverted

NS new website slogan should be "Criticizing rotations since 2001"

That last show was tyte tho, but yeah let's see a real event recap and not just a hipster montage
