8 Reasons why women need to go to the mountains with other women

That's awesome, I never really thought about that. I wish I had some female friends to go skiing/camping/hiking/whatever with, that would be so dope.
 
The only girl I've ever cared to ride with is my best friend. She kills it snowboarding but every other girl I've ever gone with always held me back. We'd go into the lodge 5 times in an 8 hour period when it wasn't even that cold and Id always have to wait at the bottom. I mean a few times a year I wouldn't mind doing this but every day I wouldn't be able to handle.

My best friend is 6 hours away at college though so I'm gonna need to find a new shred buddy this season. I wish there were more girl freeskiers around here to ride with.

However, I really like riding with guys. The "I'm a girl" excuse would get me laughed at with guys so I always try to keep up with them no mater what. They push me wayyyy more and fucking up in front of guys is worse than another girl. That's just my opinion though haha. But we all do need some girl time!
 
One of the girls I skied with back home (and one of my best friends) killed it. She's vicious as fuck and made me push myself in every way.

However, my sister wants to learn how to ski backcountry and go on backpacking trips all of the sudden. She hated skiing, hiking and me as a kid but, I'm really curious to see how this spark of interest turns out.

the only girl I ever really ride with anymore is ashley (snwbrdmilf) and I'm so glad that we fit well together (skiing and spooning duhhh). we both push it and have a killer time whenever we're out there even if it's in shitty conditions.

It reminded me of this old classic, hahaha, me and my buddy constantly quote everything from it whenever we hang out hahaha "OMG ITS A PUPPY"

 
I wish I had more active girlfriends. They all go to the gym n shit and always bail. My one friend always gets hyped with me for hiking trips and she nails every time. Tired of running as a lone wolf.
 
I have a rad group of chicks I ride with. Although in saying that we have an awesome crew all up that are shred really hard, get genuinely stoked on everyone's achievements no matter how small and are happy to coach and give tips to everyone else, both guys and girls.

But it's always nice when the girls break off and do our own thing in the park without the pressure from the boys to try hard things. At the same time it's awesome when the guys are able to give us coaching and tips even if it's just how to slide a box.

Me too. I have one really good girlfriend who goes to the gym with me, and comes hiking sometimes but, she usually flakes. It's so hard to get her come on backpacking or ski trips or anything like that too.

Awesome article, definitely sharing this with some of my adventure girls from home, don't get to do as much with them since we all go to different universities now :(

I have always thought that a huge reason girls lag behind in skiing is that they just don't go out together, pushing each other and having fun together nearly as much as guys do. Either way, this is prompting me to find someone new to go on a hiking adventure this weekend, weeee!
 
My one lady shredder friend who's amazing in park goes to school at USC now and we've been so bummed that we won't be riding together this winter so I think I'm going to surprise her and go out there and ride mammoth with her for a week or so

My best friend is going to school by Whiteface(6 hours away) so we aren't gonna be able to ride together a lot this season either. I'm definitely going to surprise her a couple of weekends tho! Ah I can't wait(:
 
This is AWESOME! I have litterally one other chick that I can ski with, and she's not super into it. Bummer. Most days im solo or with a guy friend (who is normally on a board) ughhhh. Where are all the lady shredders in Steamboat!?

If any ladies come acorss this thread that would be interested in coming along on a Hut trip this winter, probably January..probably near copper mtn or vail, or the tennessee pass. Reply!!! Already have a small crew together, would love some more ladies to join! Our crew is rather inexperinced so it wouldnt be longer than like a 5 mi. tour. Skins, beacon, probe, shovel, pack.. REQUIRED.

He may not be a lady, but my brother is up in Steamboat and he's definitely fun to ski with. If you ever see a hippie telemark guy (which is kinda all of them, I know) feel free to run him down. You can never have too many ski friends!
 
I read this a few weeks ago and just about cried at how perfect it is. There also a great one on backcountry I'll post the link bellow. I've always had a weird fear of skiing with girls just cause I always was keeping up with the guys and never felt accepted by girls but I so do need some girl friends for the backcountry. If any Utah/Alta girls need a buddy, I'm all in! This new thread makes my heart so happy and excited to get to know you ladies.

I would definitely be down if the timing is before I have to be back in class on the 11th I believe but if not I could still look into the dates.

Totally down!! I live in Boulder and this is super close for me. I just moved back to CO after 4.5 years in the tropics and am always looking for people to ride with, especially other women and ESPECIALLY ones that are good. I've been skiing since I was 4 and just really always rode with guys since literally no girls I knew growing up were into skiing or even snowboarding.

BTW both of those articles are fantastic.
 
I push myself more when I ski with guys, but I have so much damn fun when I ski with Erica.MN. I would rather ski with her over any group of guys.

jk samezies. we've been skiing together for years and its not the same without anyone else. I might even choose you over a really cute boy sometimes...
 
I loved this. I love my ladies. I get really pissed off when woman say "I just don't like girls I only have guy friends" it's such a narrow mindset. A person is a person some girls are cool some girls aren't some guys are cool some guys aren't. It's a indivual thing. I tend to ride with guys more, but it's always fun to link up with a girl and shred. I make it a point to ask any girl I take a few laps with for her number. Because it's awesome and fun to shred with a fellow lady😘
