hello guru's of M&A. first off i dont know anything about cameras other than to zoom in and out and how to take a picture and how to change a lens.

so many people have a 7d, how can you film on it? i know its a DLSR.

please explain to me how that works.

Search google, don't make us answer your petty questions.

But seriously, look it up, they work like normal video cameras just with different components.

Its a DSLR with a video mode. The mirror locks up and the sensor records video, just like everything from an HPX to a handicam.

Seriously, read about it on wikipedia or something before you post simple questions. It takes just as much time and you're going to get a better answer.

Sorry for the thread jackage but i just have a general question about the 7d...when i called my local camera shop and asked about DSLR vs camcorder, they told me a disadvantage to DSLR's are that their sensors arent really meant for constant filming. Will this effect the footage over a long enough time? anyonw with a DSLR wanna answer that for me?

google rolling shutter. That will be the biggest issue. Newer cameras are handling this better but it is still a problem.

Go watch the latest season finale of House.
It was shot entirely with the Canon 5d Mark II. (Which is one of Canon's higher end DSLR's)

the biggest issue is color saturation and noise immediately. dedicated camcorder sensors handle this much much better.
