dude, look at the total snow fall already. They close it to keep it safe, i'm sure when your laying in the hospital paralyzed because your car gets wiped out by a avalanche or a huge semi truck due to white out conditions or ice, you'll be thanking them. I mean shit dude, 200-250 inches around summit already? I think that was the total of last year. That would mean more consistent snow, which mean the roads will be snowpacked and icy more often. Which also and tragically means more accidents and more injuries. Shit dude, if they close it due to conditions and or ice or huge crashes I thank CDOT for putting myself in more danger than necessary.
