686 jacket material?

Hey everyone I’m in the hunt for a new jacket and the 686 level 1 colab glcr ether jacket caught my eye as good value right now with the Black Friday sale. Does anybody have experience with the material? I currently have a virtika jacket which is really quite water proof but I don’t love the material it feels a lot like a soft shell but with insulation.

My question is does the 686 jacket feel more like a hard shell in material but with a bit of insulation?

thanks

I just bought the 686 GLCR Hydra Thermograph. It's very lightweight compared to previous jackets I've owned. Honestly it felt kinda like a windbreaker or something at first. I think waterproof/breathable fabric and insulation are just so lightweight now that it made me question the jackets ability to keep me warm and dry. But it's felt great so far.

Thanks for the response.

That sounds like what I’m looking for. The website said the jacket should be in the 20k range as far as ratings go so it should be decently waterproof.
