60d or T2i?

Hello, I'm currently looking to buy a new camera and I'm currently deciding between these two. I have a decent amount of photography experience, and a little bit of experience with my dad's T1i. I'm going to use it for both still photography and shooting video (skiing and other). I can't decide if its worth it to spend the extra three or four hundred on the 60d.

Also, suggestions for a lens would be nice. Merry Xmas!

there honestly isn't very much difference between the 60D and the T2i, the 60D is more or less an upgraded T2i, not a continuation of the XXD series. if you're buying it strictly for filming, I say save the cash and get the T2i with something like a 50mm f/1.8 over the stock lens.

I would get the t2i. Flip out screens suck ass and with the money you save you could buy some nice primes.

if you plan on doing video and don't plan on buying a mic/mixer, buy the 60D. personally, the flip out screen appeals to me but it's not for everybody.
if you're doing photo, which it sounds like you are, then i have no clue.
also, if you get the T2i, spend the money on some primes like landis suggested. i just got the 50mm f/1.4, it's dope.

Alright, its sort of sounding like the 60d would be a waste of money for me, however, the flip out screen does seem quite practical. As far as finding lenses, what is a good web site to find a good deal on one. Obviously I want the highest quality picture for the lowest price, so used/vintage is a serious option. Suggestions?

this. everyone talks about how the flip out screen is a bonus, its really just something else to break.

so that leaves AGC (which is magic lanternable) and slightly higher fps when shooting bursts for photos. worth 300? meh.

look on craigslist for some old nikon primes, and buy a nikon-eos adapter.

i got a 35mm f2 and 50mm f1.4 for 60 bucks, which is pretty awesome

Just out of curiosity, why do you say nikon as opposed to any other brand? I feel as though I've always heard that Canon has the best glass.

nikon lenses are inexpensive and work great!

the only problem with using nikon glass on a canon body is you lose af, but since i do mostly video, i personally dont care

Alright, so is Canon better for shooting video? I've felt as though Canon was my best option, but if Nikon shoots video just as nice then i'd certainly consider that.

extremely debatable. i dont want to get into it right now but that's a pretty ignorant thing to say one is simply better than the other as both companies (canon and nikon) have their pros and cons about each camera they produce.

For video the Flip out screen is awesome. If you are trying to do any low or high shots its a super pain in the ass with a T2i with the 60d its much easier.
