"It's really all about Newtonian physics. Big cameras give you a steady shot because they have mass, but small cameras don't. You could solve this by strapping a 20lb brick to your DSLR, but that would look silly. So by adding weight to the bottom of a monopod, the camera becomes more steady, but only on two axes .... and there are three. So you move the weights out to the end, giving you stability on the third axis."

The video is pretty cool and looks pretty stable for $55-$65. Might get one instead of paying quadruple that for a glidecam. The weight stick on the bottom might be kind of big/bulky for skiing, but for just making films/shorts, ect. could be good.

Is that shit for real? You could make that for like $20. No gimbal? fucking worthless.

hahahahaha

I love the terrible grammar and the "recycled lead weights" he places in the "very best European plywood."

Also note that the monopod is not included.

I've done this to a monopod before, not comparable to a glidecam, but better than handheld. It could be decently smooth while skiing, which is quite smooth already, but why wouldn't I just but some wood and screws for half the price?

who are the 20 people who backed more than $50 when you could go in to your back yard and make something like that almost for free

this thread basically showed me i could be making bank off of shitty DIY projects, so for that I thank you

Why the fuck do people try and correct other people's grammar, It pisses me off so much.
