5'9" on 182?

I know there have been a few threads on this subject so far, but I would like some fresh advice. I have been skiing for probably around 4-5 years. I ski mainly park because I am from the midwest, where the only thing to do is ski dirt and hit features. My question is would they be too long for me or not? Should I try and go with something more like 178?

Thanks for all the replies!

I'm 5'8 and my lowest length is 178 and my highest being 186. honestly, I don't think I could ever go below 175 because it wold feel to short. I have been skiing for close to 14 years but I feell that if you just give the 182's a shot, you'll feel comfortable within about 4 or 5 runs. So as your poll says, don't be a bitch.

If you mostly ski rails and don't need the extra length or are a beanpole, I'd ride the 178s, they would probably feel better. the 182s would probably still be fine though, the extra 4 cm really isn't much.

I'm 5'8" and my park skis are 176 and 177. I also use 185's sometimes because my dads volkl walls are fun on big jumps

You could do either. If you're a good skier or hOrting big jumps or still growing give the 182s a try. If you're looking at ski "A" at 182cm and ski "B" at 178cm but like ski "A" better, go for it. If it'd the same ski and you're just sizing it, do whatever you feel comfortable with

last year I was 5' 11" on 184s and I was totally fine until the broke in a few days (mainly rail skiing) but I just prefer shorter skis for the EC for various reasons like closer features, shorter landings/inruns, mostly rail skiing like I said, and there arent many big jumps to hit.

I'd personally go with the 178 for park since I like shorter skis in the park. I'm 5'11" and ride 171 park skis and 192 pow sticks so it's really just personal preference.
