5 Minute Summary of Freeskiing

Today in my college english course, we were given the assignment to pick an extreme sport and write a 5 minute presentation on it. Obviously I picked freeskiing, so if anyone helps me with the topics I should cover, or gives me a good layout for it, ill float you some Karma. Trying to make things easier on myself while still getting across how fucking rad this sport really is. thanks
 
Talk about how its blowing up and how it's gonna pass snowboarding. Talk about the olympic slopestyle that was just passed and talk about henrik and b dog. Talk for 2 min and show a edit. or u could just show an episode of b n e.
 
Thats a pretty cool assignment, I was gonna say don't even bother doing it on a sport like skiing b/c there is little to no sources for info and the teacher will have no concept even after the presentation, but if its on extreme sports than thats a good idea. The trick is finding reliable sources.

 
watch "The Fine Line".....it is an avalanche education video that includes an awesome history of skiing segment that is condensed into about 5 mins. definitely watch it!! if you have The Ski Channel it is available on demand right now.
 
Don't do that..........instead talk about progression in the past few years. You could nicely contrast the dangers the sport holds with the entertainment value that it delivers. This could be tied into the visual impact of the trick versus the technical difficulty. i.e why Pk Hunder in the 2009 XGAmes through a far more technically difficult trick yet Dumont took won because his trick was more commercially impressive. Such a fun topic man have fun with it
 
If you really really wanna show what freeskiing is about properly, show an episode of chuglife. I think its a great summary.
 
Write about how the sport can be so dangerous and you could die or get fucked up from so many unexpected things but then say why you do it and how great the feeling is that it brings and then you can use imagery and shit like that to describe that awesome feeling of extacy that skiing gives you!
 
show an episode of TC, but talk about the progession in the past years nad how it will be in the olypmic games and that it a huge sport around the world.
 
dude that mike douglas video about the 1080 is great! never saw that one before and i really had no idea how integral he was in developing the sport. i always knew of him as a pioneer but i didn't realize that he basically invented the twin tip and pitched the idea to ski companies. thanks for the post dude!
 
Just show MSP's trailer for Claim.It has Park, Big mountain, insanity powder and the final countdown edited to perfection.

I showed it to my teacher 2/3 years ago at the end of a presentation, he quite literally just jizzed and gave me an A+. (Turned out he was an avid skier and we watched Claim in class later that year.Yes he was awesome.)
