4frnt Deadbolt 614 vs Deadbolt 15

Are there any difference between this years and last years deadbolt besides a slightly higher din (14 vs 15). I know they are essentially Tyrolia bindings as well.

Also what do people think of both these bindings? They would be used for all mtn and powder.

Weight:150

Height:5'10

THIS years are essentially tyrolia bindings. Last years come off the vist platform. In general I've heard better things about tyrolia platform bindings.

personnaly i liked last years bindings better..ive had both, last years deadblots and the tyrolia based model ...but thats just me im sure everyone can back this up and go against it..

i just got last years new, and i was surprised at how heavy duty they feel... i have only skied them a couple times and i came out when i should so i am all for that

Does anybody know if the mounting hole pattern for new tyrolia 4frnt Deadbolt 15 is the same or different that Salomom STH 16 ?

Alright so heres the deal. 4frnt stopped buying the vist binding because when you got beyond the 12 din binding, the whole binding was the same just with a different spring in there for higher din settings. Because of this, the higher din bindings had a tendency to break becuase the rest of the pieces in the binding werent able to hand the stress. They switched to a tyrollia binding this year so now the higher din bindings acutally have better contruction rather than just a stiffer din spring. As far as mounting and screw patterns... i am not positive... but im fairly certian that the vist and tyrollia bindings do not have the same exact pattern. Same goes for the tyrollia and salomon.

Nordica has re-purchased Vist this season, and is making the bindings with much better construction for next year. Vist bindings act a lot like some of the tyrolia bindings from the 1990's, but are a lot better constructed of course.

the 614's arent bad.. its really when you get to the 816's that they start to get a little too weak for the stress.

as for the hole pattern, VIST is its own hole pattern as said above, and though similar to the salomon STH heel, it needs its own jig if you're not going to eyeball it.
