4:3 or 16:9

sounds dumb but thats a creative decision you should make depending on your style or what fits the video you're making and camera you're using.Theres no hard yes or no answer as its subjective.

That said I think its hard to fuck up 4:3 fisheye with vignette and most will argue 4:3 is better as there's less dead space when the rider is center frame

The only way I know how to fix it is to scale up the footage in post. If you scale up the footage (ie zoom in) too much then the image probably won't look good, but you can probably find a happy medium where the vignette (black part) is still visible but looks a lot better.
