4,000th Post: X Games Slopestyle Previews

Jumps don't look that big? Maybe it was just the shots. Rails look interesting. I wish the cannon box was just another jump...
 
jumps do look pretty small, the skiers said they didn't have much pop so SPT has some work to do. rail section is so... average. I want that lollipop tap thing to get more use than I know it will
 
yeah, that's typical x-games for ya. at least they aren't super close with a damn channel gap in the middle.
 
add my name to the list of people who think those jumps look small and close together, and the rails are same as always

Biggest problems with slopestyle courses is that theres not enough speed and the features are too close together, idk why they would stack the jumps like that and the take-offs do look very flat and jumps are overall small. I hate the fact they use boxes, its so anti-pretzling which is like the dopest thing to do on rails, also they're kinda short, I wish they put in like some long ass rails, like a 40 ft mellow down, the only way to seperate whose good at rails and who isn't is to make the rails long, like anyone can do a 270 onto a 10 or 15 ft rail and not come off early.

Also agreed that the cannon box is played but its kinda like a staple now, be glad theres a bonk
 
this. nobody cares about your lip 2 on. i'd rather see a k-fed, blindside blindside or something similar.
 
if you get a lip 2 dialed, it's much more consistent than any of the tricks i listed. doing a lip 2 on and hitting the last 5 feet of the rail every time is a lot easier (IMO) than going slower, balancing on the rail for longer, and setting your edges to stop your momentum after a switch up or spinning on if you need to. that's why i think it shows off better rail skills.
 
at least they made a lip on the side of the cannon so im sure they could bonk the cannon if they wanted.
 
Wait til you see what B-Dog is doing on the 2nd feature. So ill. I think the rail features are way more unique this year (canon box aside).
 
looks sweet. hopefully people will actually make use of the rail variety and not just hit the down rails. and those jumps did look smaller than usual, but maybe thats just the angle.
