Hey ns, im a big mountain competitor and am looking to throw 3's off larger hits in my comps. I practice them a shit ton ( for years) but still sometimes land in the backseat or there is a hitch in the spin. throwing them in comps I cant afford for them to messy or landing on my tails. any tips to clean them up?

heres a link to a vid

Pretty sick, i only ski park, but i say just keep practicing. when used to 3 on normal jumps, i would land like that, now i can stomp them.

Bend your knees and push your chest forward more when you take off, it keeps your body in a more athletic position and angled with the slope. You will land neutral as long as you don't arch in the air like some people do when they start 7s, 9s, etc. Good luck and that sick btw man

dude...you don't need to change anything.

Talk about AFTERBANG!!

thanks bruh

In that video you dropped your tips down which caused your skis to fall behind which would be one of the reasons you landed backseat. Try too keep your tips up when you spin (unless your doing a tail grab or something) going for a safety grab may help you keep your tips up.

Also in that video you didn't wind up much before you spun, so wind up your upper body a bit more because it will help keep the rotation going around smoothly and make you less likely to go off your axis of rotation and land backseat.

thanks man, but i do like to kinda lift my tails and lead the spin with my tails for style. can I not do this?

In the park, work on spinning with a tight stance. With the exception of cornices, most BC takeoffs aren't wide enough to give the same stability that you can get with a wide stance on a park jump. That helped me at least. Not much to do but keep trying and crashing em til they work out. Looks like you have a solid start dude!

You can but I think it would be best to learn how to stomp consistently with your skis level first as it's easier to do and then you can start dropping your skis going for blunt grabs and stuff. That's just my opinion though.

You have what I've heard described as "emo kid steeze". You barely prewind if at all, you throw your arms at an angle instead of straight across your chest, and your head looks down instead of straight across in the direction you're spinning.

You need to prewind more, and focus on using your shoulders/arms straight across your chest instead of down at an angle. Same with your head, you don't want to look like a little emo kid in the air.
