whats the difference? list pros and cons please

it seems like this stage of life for a lot of people around our age is like when you are playing a video game and you beat the Final Boss, only to find out that was just a decoy Final Boss and the real Final Boss
 
4th generation has a click wheel i believe

they all did, but the full ipod sucks, the flash mp3 players are the best. They are the toughest musis playing machines, no hardrive, or moving part. Best for riding.

not much. with the 4th generation ipod you get better battery life, click wheel, and more harddrive space for the money. the 3rd generation performs about the same, except they didn't have as much storage. the major difference is that the face is completely solid with the non-clicking touch wheel and you get a row of cool light up touch sensitive buttons.

 
there seriously isnt much of a difference at all...more space thats it....and i unno what hte point of the post was but if ur looking at both on lets say e-bay u may as well get a 3rd wayy cheaper

 
i personally like the look of the 3rd gen more. but yeah, they're both basically the same thing with a couple small differences (battery life is the big one)

same storage, 4 hours less battery life on the third, as well as the heat sensitive buttons. that, i like.

the third gen feel much sturdier in the hand. The touch sensitive buttons are very dope, but sometimes a little more fussy than the click wheel.

I have noticed though that the 4th gen ones seem to have more problems than the older models. I think that they've just exploded in popularity and been so mass produced that the quality might've dropped a bit, but regardless they're basically the same.
