3D skiing edit, need your help

So as you may or may not know, I won a gopro camera because I offered to make a 3d skiing edit. Well this is about to happen. I am in the process of building a tripod adaptor which will make this possible.
So newschoolers, heres where I need your help... what particular shots would you like to see in 3d? what would you think would look the crazyest popping out of the screen.

shot of some sort coming at me, like from the end of a rail. I think for most of the shots to be really crazy in 3D, it would be best to make the skier approaching the viewer, kind of corny but that's the only way i see it really being worth while, but i would love to hear other people's suggestions too

follow cam, or leader cam would be a more fitting name for it. filmer infront of the skier, going off a jump. film between your legs or something, or do a massive zerospin!

Im stoked to hear that you are making a 3D ski movie! i think i superman front flip in 3D would be sick! and a slash in the pow so all the pow like blows up into 3D

Also I don't know how well it would work with wide angle go pros. but dollying towards a jump with trees coming at you from the sides would look trippy

A skier hitting a rail would look pretty dope, with the cam at teh end of the rail sorta so it pops at the viewers face and the skier crashes into them

Hate to be a Debbie downer but you're probably not going to make good looking 3d with a high quality prosumer camera and a small cheap gopro with a wide angle lens.

Still hoping this works out for you, good luck

A team tried this at the Oakley Jib-Vid last year, gave everyone the red and green 3d glasses at the projection night, kinda worked, though think compression makes it funny.
If you've got the old school red and green 3d glasses, try it out:

or embed (i hope):

to the party pooper.... dont worry I am not using two different types of cams. Im borrowing a camera that is identical so I can do the 3D.

get 2 angles of a gopro so whoever is watching will "feel" the trick happening before their eyes. you won't.

reverse 3d i guess where the skier is coming from behind you INTO the screen and hitting a rail or a kicker ro something idk just an idea

a back cork 9 leading true tail. as he brings the ski around to grab it'd be sick if it popped out of the screen!

there was a 3d part in "They Came From" this year (euro snowboard film), and although i wasnt able to see the 3d (no 3d glasses), most of the shots were from below and/or a "leader-cam" as someone above mentioned. Seemed to work well.

Love the idea about fixing it near the end of a rail, would be sick.

make it anything with alot of prespective, so dont follow right next to em, stand at the end of the jump/ rail

put them on the gap, so the skier jumps over it. directly over it... thats why you have a go pro right... not a 7grand super camera... get bail angles, and places where you would normally not be filming. you get some cool fotage, also mount them so you dont have to have it on the tripod all the time.

i think youre gonna have to take not necessarily close ups, but you cant have a large distance between you and the rider. 3d movies work well because our brain gets fooled and cant get a correct perspective on the image. if you shoot someone close enough, but not too close, this might work very well.

btw are you using the old fashion cyan/red polar glasses? or the newer tech with "spiralled" wavelengths?

dont worry man i know how to do it. also what are your thoughts on letting me use your gopro to make a 3D porno

definitely love the idea of the powder in 3D also some cliff jumps would look sick with them flying out of the trees right into your face. rails would be sick too

all of my shots are park follows - some in air follows, etc. Coming out pretty sweet so far, have all the clips 3D-atized. Just need to edit together with some muzak.
I would recommend everyone go out and get some red/cyan 3D glasses!
Here's a site that will send you glasses if you send them a SASE (self addressed stamped envelope)
Make sure you specify anaglyph red/cyan

an S-rail or box with a HUGE curve, from the side, so you see the skier come towards you, the go away, then stomp a steezy 450 out, and rideaway like a pimp
