38 meter high dive attempt

I've seen this before...

But this begs the question - How can you attempt something like that, and appear so ill prepared?

It honestly looks like the dude had never jumped off of anything higher than a 3m board

What's the tallest height you can jump from into water? I'm considering doing a 100ft jump, but I thought I would ask about any thoughts or comments before I take the plunge.

I would be landing feet first pencil dive style.

This depends upon several factors. Most very high dives are done into disrupted waters. The bottom of a waterfall is good for this, as are bubblers and even spraying the water with a hose. There is an idea that if you drop a rock right before you jump, this will help as well. It is all about breaking the surface tension of the water. You will definitely want to wear shoes, and perhaps a full wetsuit to cushion your body. 100 feet is not fuck-around height.

Haha yeah I'm definitely wearing shoes and a wetsuit, and it's at a pier which has fairly broken water around it. So should I wait until it's super wavy? I'm assuming that the wavier the better?

Also I'll be doing a front flip so I can control my flipping speed. Haha all of my friends are telling me that this is a death height and an all around dumb idea.

Anyone got an inspiring video of a dude actually completing a 100+ft jump? you know, instead of a huge fail.

Post it up, Oh, and no cheating with bubblers and shit

dude oh my god I feel so bad for that guy.

Last month I was doing some "coasteering" on the coast of Wales and there was this rock called "bellyflop rock" or some shit. The two guides somehow did it without injury (this things like 6ft off the water) and we were in full wetsuits and life jackets so I decided to go for it and holy fuck I thought I tore my nutsack completely open.

that guy is fucked and his nuts undoubtably exploded

they tested this on mythbusters and proved it wrong.

water under a waterfall might be better to jump into than flat water but a rock won't help lessen the impact.
