360 Help?

I've been skiing for about a week now and I can easily get 180s and ride switch, but when I try to 360 I get to around a 180 maybe a little more and then stop committing. I have this other problem also that could affect it a little bit so I start spinning the opposite way before reaching the lip and this causes my skis to get tangled up. I've been trying 360s in my backyard mostly, but I have access to a bigger hill if needed. Any tips for landing them and getting rid of my problem of spinning early?

what do you mean you start spinning the opposite wayy? maybe try on a larger jump if you can. You can also take a video of yourself and see what your doing wrong.

spinning early could be causing your tails to catch the lips of the jumps which causes your skis to get tangled. If you're a little more patient and pop hard enough it should help.

I twist my upper body to the opposite side that I'm trying to 360 I normally spin to my left. @RJP_Pow I used my gopro to see what I was doing and I was hitting my tails on the lip of the jump.

you need to turn your head when you spin and keep looking in the direction that you are turning. also, use your arms to create more momentum

wind your arms up and throw them around while you look over your shoulder. Don't forget to pop and to not spin on the jump.

Should I throw my arms when I already popped off the jump or when? Also Thank you everyone for the help.

You should try to find a jump at least 7 feet to try this, to give yourself enough time to get it around. Going too small will be worse of a fall. As you approach the jump, set your arms like a T and bend your knees, keeping your feet a little more than shoulder width leaning forward with lots of shin pressure. At the lip of the jump you want to wind up your body the opposite way of your spin and be careful to keep your feet straight as this was likely your problem earlier. Look over your shoulder in the direction you want to spin and throw your arms that way too. Pop really hard off the jump and at about 270 you should be ably to spot your landing and land the trick.

Would speed help me a lot? On my backyard setup I have 2-3 foot kicker and I get decent speed from the drop in. I may not be able to use the hill tomorrow depending on what the owners say, so I need options in case I can't use it.

I think a season pass to a mountain with actual jumps would help more than anything

I plan to go regularly but on days I can't go I would like to get some practice in .

Commit your hips to the spin as well as your shoulders when you initiate it, and keep your head turned until you can see where you're going to land.

Despite what people say, you can't pop and then start to spin once in the air. It needs to be initiated during the pop just before or as you leave the snow. Also, your body will follow your shoulders, so keep them and your head level throughout the spin. A good way to think of it is as you leave the jump, look back up at the jump or run in, not down. Continue to look and don't look down till spotting your landing.
