Hey fellow new schoolers so i was digging through the basement when i saw a BA camera it turns out to be my dads from a while ago it is in mint condition here is a link to the modle... http://www.mir.com.my/rb/photography/hardwares/classics/olympusom1n2/om1/index.htm

if anyone wanted to help a young photographer get started that would be great...

i have a couple of questions to start out

1. is this worth working with

2. does anyone have or used or even heard of this camera

3. what lense would be good and reasonably priced to throw on the camera

4. and lastly just any basics about any SLR info everthing from a tutorial you made or a link. posibly how to focus lol that must be a noob question

If it's in working condition then i'd say go for it. looks like a solid camera, I have not used one myself. Get a 50mm 1.8, pretty common lens. focus is right on the lens
 
USE IT! Mint condition, and FREE!? You hit the fucking jackpot! Like someone said, get a 50mm 1.8 or something and you're good to go. Film is incredible, and it'll be a lot of fun. Definitely going to have to learn a lot about photography in general because it is manual, but that's not a big deal. Once you find out how the meter works, you're pretty much good.

And, shoot color film!

I have an OM-2, well, my Dad does. And he's not gonna let me have it when I leave. Finding another one for under $150 has been impossible
