"fuck the police" if you have ever said this and you werent singing along to some ghetto ass shit, youre an ignorant faggot. 3 cops were killed in pennsylvania when they were called to a domestic disturbance call. not to mention the fact that 4 officers were killed in oakland recently.

heres the point. cops may seem like dicks when they pull you over or whatever but its not because they are power hungry ass holes who want to fuck your day up. they are fathers and husbands who want to be able go home to their families. the fact is that the world today is fucked up and may criminals dont value life. there is a video out there where a cop pulls someone over for speeding and gets shot in twice in the chest as soon as he gets to the window (luckily he had his bullet proof vest on). turns out the driver was a 15 year old kid who took his grandmas car and didnt want to get in trouble. a cop that lived 2 minutes from me pulled somebody over for loud music. the guy had a concealed carry permit and police protocal is to handcuff the person during the stop for safety, not arrest him, just cuff him then let him go atthe end. the guy had no prior record or warrents but still thought it was necessary to shoot him in the head 4 times and kill him when he wasnt even getting arrested. they found the guy later with the cuffs still on his wrist. he didnt just kill a cop, he murdered a husband and the father of a 3 month old daughter who will never know her father. its a dangerous job and youd be edgy too if you didnt know if the next stop for speeding would be the last thing you do. police dont want to ruin teenagers lives and be dicks, they want to go home to their families. so next time you have your little fuck the police temper tantrum just shut the fuck up. you broke the law and deserved whatever happened.

Vibes. Most cops IMO are good and serve and protect, sometimes they are given dumb ass orders by the higher ups and then probably 20-30% are dicks. Really sad though, no one deserves to be slain on the job.
 
it is really unfair. These cops all have families and when shit like this happens it sucks. Cops are just doin their job and nobody wants to get hurt.
 
That's terrible man, it would suck so bad to be killed for something like that. Think of all of the screwed up countries in the world and one of the big reasons they are so messed up is corrupt/ineffective police forces. It sucks to be pulled over for speeding, or have your party broken up because the neighbors thought you were too loud, but I appreciate the fact that the US is ordered and safe for the most part when compared to the rest of the world.

1) cops don't get carte blanche to do whatever the fuck they want simply because someone breaks the law. beating a defenseless girl like schene did is a cowardly act, and the end result (probably a slap on the wrist) will be indicative of a state-citizen relationship where citizens lack any real power.

every cop ive ever dealt with has been a total dick. just look at the ryan moats incident. its not fair to categorize all cops with shit heads like him, but for the most part i think they are lowly pathetic people who grab a job that comes with power so they can feel big about themselves and abuse their power.

it was so sad waking up to see this on every news channel in pittsburgh.my heart goes out to the three officers families, the other 2 injured officers, and the suspects family.its crazy because the one officer who was killed didn't even need to be there..he was on his way home and the domestic dispute just so happened to be in his neighborhood so he drove over and ended paying the ultimate sacrifice.
RIP Officers Kelly, Mayhle, and Sciullo.
 
probably around 95% of cops don't go around looking to be assholes to people. Don't present them with a chance to be an asshole, and they'll treat you better.

you know how often people on here say respect gets respect when talking about skiing? Same thing applies to real life. If you obey, listen to, and don't talk back to cops, they should be cool with you. They might still have to fine you/arrest you or something, but if you're in a situation to get arrested you probably already fucked something up anyways, so you might as well be courteous.

security guards on the other hand...ehhhhhh i find it hard to respect them. Cops at least go through schooling, then pretty intensive training to get there. Security guards just apply.
 
I totally agree with people who have opinions on both sides of this. Anyone who has met a dick cop has obviously formed a pretty poor opinion of them (wrightfully so), and vise versa. I have a great view of police because I have had great interactions with them, and almost every cop I ever met seemed like a genuinely good person. I'm always respectful and I am happy to say I have gotten it in return. I have seen people get short with officers and they definitely got a poor attitude back. Cops need to keep themselves together, because they represent every law enforcer out there. That video above is a good example of a show of terrible character putting a bad name on all of the good officers out there.
 
not to piss anyone off but i found it wicked ironic that this morning before the Pittsburgh shooting was on the news the main headline of CNN was a quote from the Binghamton NY Chief of Police calling the killer who went on a killing spree there a coward for killing himself instead of gettin into a shootout with police officers.
 
ya true that. cops are just doin their job, and if you say fuck the police chances are you did something stupid and deserved whatever happened. whenever someone kills a cop, they are ignoring the fact that these people have families too. some people just dont value human life and its not right.
 
i think in general cops are here to "protect and serve" but some get corrupted by power, as we see in the vid of that girl. but it's total bullshit to kill cops just because they're trying to hold down the law and do their jobs. some cops are definitely assholes but the whole "fuck the police" mentality is unacceptable when cops are losing their lives over it

Actually I plan to be a cop if all my other aspirations fail miserably and I don't pass college. Mostly to drive fast and carry a gun.

I made that descision maybe a few months ago.
 
Im am currently going to school to become a police officer, and i think its hillarious how all these people badmouth them. Its crazy to assume that all cops are powerhungry assholes. thats like saying all the kids on here with long hair on here are fucking dirtbag bums. Thats definately not the case, so dont stereotype becuase of a bad experience. In all honesty, if you dont act like a complete dumbass and do what your told, you will never have to deal with a cop. And to the guy who said its a job for someone with a 2.5 gpa haha get a clue, its a job for a person who loves to be selfless and help others. I got a 4.33 in highchool so by no means is it a job for idoits. Only an idoit would trash someone who protects people that they have never even met.

Do you realize how fucked up a LOT of shit would be without cops? Sure some are corrupt, but the majority do what they do to help us all, and at the end of the day they just want to go home like everyone else, they have families, children, people close to them that CARE about them.

i dont think that it was necessary but i think that he was completely justified. criminals do not deserve the rights that they are given. and like i just said in the last post, that dumb bitch kicked her shoes at him. she fucking deserved to get her teeth knocked out just for being so god damn stupid.
 
this happened in pittsburgh this morning I woke up turned the tv on and saw it. the guy was a former marine who got 3 head shots with an ak-47. He called his friend today telling him he was going to die and like an hour later a crazy shoot out happened his family talked him into surrendering although he getting the death penalty
 
I think that cops at times act that way because they get so much shit from punk ass people. If you have something bad to say about the police then you are pretty stupid. They are here to keep us safe. If you are not doing anything wrong and dont do anything to put your self in that situation then why worry. If you are breaking the law and talk shit about a cop giving you a hard time then you deserve it.
 
yea, like Drew said, becoming a cop in most places in the United States is extremely difficult, and they are very very selective and really only take the best. Last i heard, there was something ridiculous like a 3 year waiting list just to take the test to TRY to get into the police academy near me
 
Seriously, I have never gotten shit from any cops and every cop I have ever met/ conversed with has been really nice. Whenever I'm on NS, I always see these complaint threads about speeding tickets and getting busted for weed and quite honestly its stupid. If you do it, take some responsibility for it instead of placing the blame on others like the cops. I do that stuff and if I get caught I'm going to be pissed, but I'm not going to say "fuck the police" I'm gonna say "damn I should have broken the law better... my bad." If we didn't have cops there would be a lot more of this kind of shit happening...

that is tragic and although most police are fair and reasonable people I have had a few bad experiences and yes some are power hungry.
Now I know this sounds sexist and not to stereo type but I have found that female police are generally jerks, as they're trying to prove a point that they don't fuck around.
I had one who pull me over and say that I ran red light (I did a rolling right hand turn at the red light) and because I had my "N" license she was able to charge me 375 bones because i had 3 passengers. She spoke to me disrespectfully when I was being polite to her. I felt she stereotyped me because of my age and long hair. That left a bad taste in my mouth about cops.
 
its a lot more dangerous for women than men so i think they have to be more uptight ya know? if that causes her to be rude to you for running a red light but saves her life 2 weeks later when shes on top of her game and gets the first shot off when someone tries to kill her, so be it.

I hate cops, ive never been disrespectful to a cop and every time i have an incounter i get treated like shit. ya cops are out to protect us but why arnt they out stoping domestic abuse or helping lost kids find their parents when instead are peeping highschool parking lots looken for kids smoken a joint or busting a house party with underage driunking. being a cop is the easy way out, why inforce curupt laws when instead you could be out working a job your passionit(sp?) about. hmm i could go to rcmp training for 3 months then have a career set up or go to school and study somthing your intrested in use your knowledge to better the world. in my oppinion cops are people who think their tough and want to be seen as it Hows an easy way to feel powerful...hmmm be a cop! until meet a cop that gives me some respect my oppinion will never change.

Perhaps in some cases criminals should be more severely punished, but there are reasons why we have a legal system in place, one of which is to prevent abuse of power. It is not the right of one man (or woman) to determine the punishment for someone who has broken the law, however minor or significant the offense. You need to think about the consequences that these kind of things have on the rights of citizens. How would you like to be falsely of accused of a crime and have a police officer beat you to a pulp? I think it's terrible that those cops were killed, especially if they did nothing to deserve it, but we cannot categorize all police officers as either good or bad. Many are good public servants and people, but there is also a very significant percentage that abuses their power by trying to exact their wills on others and abuse their power excessively.
