270 ON

I had this issue too. But you really just have to commit to it.

You can build up to it, by getting 90 on on lock, then 180 on, then whipping it the whole way round, setting a little harder each time, until you get it. Practice will ake perfect.

Just windup when you're approaching the box/rail. Then when you pop onto it just whip your body around and land. Sometimes you may land 180 but then just kinda slide an xtra 90 degrees onto the box, and it will look extra steezy.

If you want legitimate 270, just windup pop hard and you'll get it. They're fairly easy.

once you have the rotation down make sure you dont start the spin to early, jump and then spin, this will help you not to drift one way or the other. Try not to pizza of the lip.

dont just "whip" it around. youll end up over rotating and nutting it. just watch the rail the whole time. youll get it

pretty much throw a 3 onto the box... youll keep spining on the box which is pretty much what everyone does when they first learn them . look up at the lip to stop yourself from continuing to spin. then learn to just throw a 270 on and not a 3.

i real worried about slipping out, how much did you guys slip out when learning this. also will learning to slide unnaturally help allot?

learn it on boxes first and learn to lock in to the box as soon as you can..then you can try it on rails.

main thing is to get away from the habit of 270 on and then flat spinning on the box..ideally you want to two sev on and stop your rotation right away/try to pretzel.. once you can two sev and lock in, take it to an easy non urban flat bar or something close and try it on that.. if you got good at locking in, then you should have no trouble with the rail/not nutting yourself

how to stop rotation? at first, after you 2sev on to the box and land, push your lead ski forward and tilt it back so that the bottom of the ski is visible and pointing to the end of the box... once you get better, you can start doing a pedal, where the front part of your ski literally breaks or pushes against the side of the box causing you to stop the rotation and eventually to backside switchup (revert) or pretzel 2sev out.

last piece of advice..once you learn two sev on, do it onto everything you can as often as you can..learn your unnatural side too (pref. after you learn unnaty 3's pretty well).. this is a trick that takes repetition to really master

Well, I just learned them over the weekend, and I slipped out a few times. Just find a nice, fat flat box and practice unnatural slides. It helped me to stop slipping out, and I've got them down now.

get really comfortable sliding a box first, just make sure you jump straight up and land on both feet and youll be find. my first time i didnt slip out.

If you were being pedantic, which I assume you were: since the OP is learning 270s on, I'm going to assume he's going to begin on boxes. Therefore, to 180 onto a box is no trouble.

If you weren't, and simply need some advice: try setting a little harder when you pop 90.

i learned it on the first try on a box this weekend, and also learned 3s.

wen i 3 i spot at 180 then continue spinning. wen i 270 i do a 180 and look at the box the let my feet follow. learn BS SWAPS first

one thing that helps a lot when your learning them is to do a blind swithup the way you want to spin. when you do the blind switchup get used to looking at the rail and seeing how you land after you 180. then go try a 270 onto some flatbox like people have said. another thing is to make sure you pop before you spin, i used to start spinning before i got off the lip and it isn't a good way of doing it

Make sure you are setting the rotation like a 180 and not a 360. My huge problem was always not hitting the rail square and I fixed it by doing 180 on (with a 90 of the skis). spot for the rail and then just do the head turn. If you think about it you don't set a 180/90 to get onto a rail normally you just do liek a straight pop and shift your body the rest in the air. It is the same for a 270 on. Pratice it onto a box and spot down in the air, then take it to a rail!
I hope that helps my trick tips are sometimes unorganized and confusing

do it on a ride on dancefloor. just wind up and throw your arms. pretend like you're punch a midget in the face.

echoing what most people said... start on sm. low boxes. get yourself ready to "wound up" before you pop. but what helped me when I was first learning (you'll even it out later) was kind of sucking my knees up just a bit after i popped. when you land back on the box/rail remember to look back down the rail, not at your feet. This will eventually help slow your rotation down so later you can pretzel out.

look at the rail right behind where you're landing. (towards the top of the rail, yeah?) key.

everyone does it but nobody says it much. what is this.
