270 on to unatty

So I just learned 270 on to rails which im stoked about. It was a short urban flat tube. One problem I have is that I land unatty. I ski rails right foot forward and spin left. Should I practice sliding rail unnatural more or should I come in from the left side and practice spinning right?

Additionally, any tips for 270 on in general? I kinda just pop huck and see how it goes while looking down at the rail. 4 out of 6 times I would hit the rail and slip out sideways because I was leaning backwards to much. This might be because I am not used to sliding rails unnatural or also simply because I havent done enough of them to practice.

Do enough of any of the tricks mentioned above and it won't become an issue. There isn't too much different in learning how to slide unnatural with a 270 on than with going unnatural straight in, but try to do both if you can since you lock in differently for both. Learning unnatural 2s is difficult but with practice it'll come eventually. I'd personally stick to landing unnatty. Just keep sending them and correct yourself a little each time.

For my 270 ons I just pop more of a 180 and shifty the rest of the rotation around so when I land I won't have to stop as much angular momentum. Point your front foot down right when you land so you lock in real nice too. Good luck!
 
Every time I go out and ski on little pvc rail I got set up in the woods I always hit it atleast like 10 times unnatural, trust me you'll notice a hug difference. I don't have this problem because I spin left and slide left foot forward so 270s on aren't a problem in that sense but sliding unnatural makes front swaps and back swaps feel so much better.

The problem I have with leaning forward a lot is that I wont be able to pop enough and my tips will then catch the rail. Does this happen or do I just have to wait to start the spin a little later?

I am just like you, I spin left grind right foot forward. So when I do the 2 on I'm grinding unatty and at first it was hard to slide the rail but I just kept doing it every single run and now it's much easier. I also try to do at least 1 run a day unatty on all rails and that seemed to help
 
I spin and grind the same way as you, when I learned them it helped a ton to learn to grind unnatty first. Work on some unnatty kfeds and front swap front 2s. Unnatty blinds will be real hard so I wouldn't fuck with that yet. For the 270 on, it helps to get in a real athletic stance to lower your center of gravity. I did a few in this video on a flat tube, but make sure you exaggerate it even further on down features.
