Do we get the long boi version of the whitewalker 121 yet?

I really hope so. Haven’t heard anything yet tho. I will say I heard the k2 reckoner line is getting completely remade with all new shapes and widths. I’ll definitely share more details once I know more

There’s a trash bin of old skis behind my home mountain, let’s start there

It’s definitely crazy but necessary, the time cycle and process that goes into building a new ski or boot etc is such a damn long time that in order to design, prototype, tweak protos it has to be a year or two out. [tag=154780]@tomPietrowski[/tag] im certain could definitely give us more insight into that. Granted too besides us on NS the general public would have no damn clue that athletes are riding on not current year stuff

Where do you think all of the ad material (including rider segments) that are showing off this years skis for you to buy came from?

would be nice if they stiffened that one up a bit, but who knows what they're looking at

Yeah the design process is certainly long. It’s different for skis and boots for sure due to the differences in production. For example our ski development team are in the middle of f25 (fall 2025 release) whereas we are starting our F26 boot development program.

In terms of athletes on products it does depend on who they are and what we want testing most though will be on current season product until the new year and then they will switch to f24 product

we will have some long term testing going on though but you would have to look closely to spot anything.

Brands have no interest in making 23/24 products less desirable at this time of the year. 9 times out of 10, brands usually aren't releasing these pics, it's people taking unauthorized pics of products.

Products are developed at least 2 years in advance. This means what is coming for the 23/24 season was developed during the 21/22 season. That also means, what I am working on right now is coming out for the 25/26 season.

24/25 products are done being developed and are being prepared for any catalog shooting, upcoming season edits or movie segments. Think of it this way: in order for your favorite bro pro to be on the 23/24 gear in 23/24's hot movie, that product needed to be ready for the 22/23 winter for filming. What you will be seeing in this thread are unauthorized product pics of 24/25 gear getting ready for those needs.

Who has info on the Salomon sidehit? I think sleepy has been riding it for a while now, seems like that ski has been in development forever but I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to drop in fall 24

Second hand gear is for sure the move! Especially finessing barely used shell jackets from middle-aged dads saves me hundreds every time. Also used pivots slap hard, I have 4 pairs, all bought below 150/piece.

I have an absolute mint pair up for grabs. Sad to see the best binding leave the market if it’s true.

I could be wrong but I think they still have the 16 but the 13 is done. 16 will probably be done in the next couple years, but it’s still in the 23/24 product line for now.

They've changed it a good bit from the ski you've seen Sleepy skiing mostly. There are like 5 pairs out there right now and full production hasn't started yet, as last I heard. That said, it is coming and it is a really good looking ski. I don't want to tread on any toes and drop info that isn't out, but for me, it could be the ski to buy in that 100-110mm range for as much versatility as possible. I have mixed feelings re. Salomon in general, but the ski is a banger. I think there will be some news on them in the next few months...

Half the skis I've ever bought have been used. Skiied 500+ days on a pair of used volkls before I retired them and they're still in good enough shape to slide rails. Had a new pair of heads that I got 40 days out of and they are unskiable.

Damn, I’ll pour one out for the STH2. Used to buy them because Solly had the best pro-form but they got me hooked. Best binding, PERIOD. Have fun with your core-af pivot/fks in deep snow, nerd.

Used skis should be alright, to an extent. It's relatively easy to judge the wear & tear on a ski and figure out what it is worth to you.

I would be hesitant of buying used ski boots though, mainly due to any customization that has been done to them. No point in buying a boot that has someone else's foot shape ground/stretched/molded into it.

And it's easier to keep a pair of boots going longer than skis. There are at least repairable/replaceable parts on a boot, not so much with skis. Provided that your shell & cuff are ok, it is possible to get new soles, new power straps, new liners, new buckles, etc. in order to extend the life of your boot.

Absolutely no one should be buying used safety equipment, like a helmet. Helmets are safety rated for a single impact and even with seemingly good looking helmets, there is often no way of telling if the helmet's safety has been compromised.

I was kinda hoping they would be in the 90-100 mm range but a ski similar to the rocker2 100s would be equally hype that ski was sick

not boot related, but can you confirm that next year Shift 2 binding will be released? heard that several times already. Also heard that it was actually designed and was ready for production early 2020 but then postponed due to covid

There is definitely some clear rocker2 100 DNA in there, but they are a little wider. There's also some pretty clear inspo from skis some of the new riders have skied over the years.

Sth2 heels are now on the strive 16’s. Only the toe was changed. Sth2 stock should be around for a decent amount of time
