Has anyone skied with these? Im interested these beacouse they are light and the turning radius is 16m. How soft is the flex? :D I have skied with blends, vishnu wet, and now i need new pair for this season.

I have never skied them but one of my friends had them and he loved them. He said the flex is not super stiff but definitely a lot stiffer blends and wets. Again, I can't say whether or not this is true because I never skied them, but I do know that the quality was great and he ranted about how much he loved them all the time.

As light as touring skis.

To me they felt a bit stiff. Way too easy to spin. The swing weight is like non existent. They were fun for that reason, and easy to learn switch ups on!

To give you a better idea, I weigh 120lbs, 5’4”. I think I got the 163s? Maybe they felt stiff because they are shorter than what I am used to riding. But definitely not as soft/buttery as Armadas. Not as poppy as K2’s. But super light.

After a season in the park, the topsheet/sidewall is starting to chip (see pics). Idk if that’s normal for park skis though! Since it was my first season learning to jib. Kinda surprising they held up this long considering how light they are lol. Maybe someone can shed some light on whether or not that’s actually a problem, idk

If you’re a large dude that plans on smashing rails all season that may be something to consider

Ski is re-designed, they say it would be more durable??

I heard this year they improved durability. Pretty sure I saw a video about them not long ago somewhere. I'll try to find.

Hey guys. Browsing NS and just came across your Qs about the Vandals. The 2023 Vandal is a totally new ski with updated shape and new construction. Topsheet chipping will happen no matter what so we replaced the sandwich build with semicap topsheet. This should help prevent some of the topsheet damage. When it comes to the new shape, the new Vandal is still symmetrical/true twin, but it is now 130mm-95mm-130mm while the older one was 92mm waist. It is built with 4Radius sidecut (4 radii in the sidecut) replaces the traditional radius with a progressive sidecut arch - this enhances maneuverability especially for all-mountain skiing. With 4R, the skis respond better to power input and are more stable in turns. Flex is at 5 so on the soft and playful side of things.

We tested the 2023 Vandal with Newschoolers this past spring and here's the link to their 2023 buyers' guide with a video:https://www.newschoolers.com/ski-gear/2023/Skis/1933/Vandal

I hope this helps clarify a few things.

Also, since it's holiday season, I've created a 20% discount code that is good until December 31. Use code: NEWSCHOOLERS22 to get 20% off any 2023 freestyle ski in our lineup on majestyskisamerica.com.

We pay for shipping in the U.S.

Happy days!

Andy

I had an old pair of Vandals and they were one of my favorite park skis that could be skied hard out of the park in chopped snow. I'm sure the 3's are just as good.
