2021 RealSki Thoughts

We know Tanner was injured filming- (It seems to me the injury rate for real ski is way higher than any other X games ski event.)

It's going to be interesting this year if someone was in a place with no snow and couldn't travel because of restrictions.

There will be a lot of contrast between Hackel/Mango's parts and more comp-y guys such as Colby and A-Hall.

always a treat to see Hackel and Mango in Real Ski, but also very excited for A-Hall's part. feel like he is gonna have some insane clips

I’m excited to see what ferdi does he hasn’t like teased anything at all, I don’t even know who’s filming with him

Seeing names thrown around that werent in the other thread...Colby, Ferdi, LJ. Are any of them confirmed??

So far I’ve only seen confirmation from A-Hall, Taylor, Lupe, Hackel/Mango (assuming they accepted the re-invite), and Tanner (replaced?).

Ther's six people and everybody probably would have been announced by now, so I think that's the lineup. Idk what people are talking about with LJ and them

this years lineup is lupe, Taylor, thall, ahall, ferdi and hackel

They talk a bit about Real Ski at 54:00. Seems like it's not only gonna be urban this year, people are allowed to film in the backcountry. I don't know what to think of this, I guess we'll have to see, but I would've kept it just street.

Personally I think it would be a lot better if they kept it just street, that's kind of the whole point of Real Ski. Plus it makes it even more complicated to judge

I think the same thing, but I think from the X Games point of view, one problem here is the number of "big name" skiers that hit street, and they probably don't see the point of putting a bunch of "core" skiers in the contest, that don't have as big of a following. 1-2 lesser known guys is probably fine with them, but if they only kept it street, I think they would sort of ran out of skiers in a couple of years. Personnally I'd love to see a Real Ski with only guys that are really dedicated to street skiing, like the Forre Guys, or Cal Carson, but X Games probably doesn't really see the point of doing that and want skiers with bigger followings.

It’s a bit disappointing. I’d love to see skiers like Dylan Manley, Meeks, Cal Carson, Magnus again, any Vishnu rider or anyone from The Bunch. Also it’s important to throw in more competition skiers like A Hall etc. which they did. Cool to see Taylor in it.

For the record the injury’s in real street have not been more than other x games events. In 5 (?) years, it’s been bdog and tanner with season enders , Sam Zahner with a concussion and Magnus with a shoulder injury which hurt him for a month. All things considered that’s pretty par for the course for pro skiers focused on street. A few go down but most make it through the season. Also mango didn’t compete this year

Oh yeah bud? Is that why you never stated why he pulled out and instead linked your podcast? GEE I GUESS THAT MUST HAVE BEEN A GIANT COINCIDENCE WITH CHANGING YOUR PROFILE NAME TO YOUR SHITTY PODCAST TITLE!

The only thing more pathetic than self-promoting podcasters who leave click bait comments are those who blatantly lie about doing it. Fuck you, sir. Fuck you.

Is there any word if someone’s taking tanners place or if he has enough clips to still make a full edit?

I don't see why he wouldn't, especially because of what magnus did in 2018

Agreed. I think it must be an unspoken rule when inviting skiers to compete that they have to be household names (at least in real ski). def wanna some homies from forre or cal Carson that are on the outside looking in tho. Sam zahner was kinda that guy in the field last year, at least from an X games perspective. Sure, no podium but the guy still laid down some hammers. One day, a homie like that is gonna shatter expectations and completely change the criteria for real ski contestant nominations
