Another curious question: if you order boots straight from the site, can you have them swap out the tongue for a stiffer one like 10 or 12 for no/little extra cost?

Nope sorry. We actually don't have the functionality to order direct from us as we only sell through authorized dealers (go to a shop people) .. next year we will have the ability to buy from us and the sale will be fulfilled by the closest store. It would be a great feature to pick flex and customize but that's a few years down the line and will be awesome. For not you'll have to buy the stock boot and get an aftermarket tongue.
