2017 BDOG

I think the 2017 bdog looks super sick. Its supposed to be a little softer than the edollo. Once or twice season ill have a competition in park city or something with like 75 foot jumps. Do you think these skis are to soft for bigger jumps or would they be alright, also tell me what you think of the 2017 bdog's or if you have ridden them.

The width combined with the noodle flex probably isnt a great combination for larger features. I'd expect a lot of chatter and instability at speeds.

They are super noodles for this season. I flexed them in store and was shocked at the flex. I would use them for specific rail skiing and small little jumps and side hits. They will wash out and be chattery. They should be a great fun little ski though, i wouldn't recommend them for your usage purpose though

I wish I could flex them. Like 95% of the season I'll be hitting medium jumps max 50 ft. Do you think they find handle medium size jumps?

Yah i guess, depends on how much you hit them. I think the ARV96 might be more up your alley. You could also wait for a review or try and get a feel for them at your local shop.

lol yes, they will handle medium sized jumps

It sounds like you either already have your mind made up, or already ordered a pair with all of the justification you are giving to why it won't be too soft. It's a good ski I'm sure but at the end of the day not really meant for big jumps. Of course it will "handle" medium and large jumps, they aren't going to explode, but you will most likely wash out or not be as stable as you could be on something more stiff.

I might be stupid but if Henrik can triple on the very slightly stiffer edollo then I think I can hit jumps fine on the bdog's.

His personal pair could be stiffer though. You never know with pros

I wish I could flex /demo them. They look like a real fun ski. Im confused about the flex though because people say they are similar to thalls which in my experience(2 full seasons) on thalls they were semi soft on the tip and pretty damn stiff in the tails. Then I've heard that they are softer than dollos which I've also skied and they are nothing like thalls flex(way softer in the tails).

Nah id say the Bdogs are a bit softer than the Halls are for sure. Id contact Twig, he's actually ridden them too. He could give you some insight

My personal experience on them was awesome. Luckily, I'm fortunate enough to work some demos with them and have heard feedback from a lotta riders and it was all good. Coming from the Midwest, and most of our demos to be on cold days so the snow was very hard. People were saying they held up and could turn them. Not a ton of chatter if you can really ski the ski. I had them on jumps, to pow, to ripping groomers. They're super fun, and I love the new shape on them. I don't think you will be disappointed at all if you end up buying them. You will get used to them and know how they ski the best.
