Hey everyone, finally some snow is rolling in and the east coast resorts we all love are opening up. I bought the line bacons at the end of last season and new salomon bindings this summer. This last weekend i got to try them out for the first time at Killington, VT. The first day was a little rough. The snow was very icy and granular, making uneven piles of pushed over snow. Not to mention it was my first time on the 178's. I skied 157's before these so the transition was.. interesting. The second day, although very icy, was actually pretty fun because i was able to grip the ice with my fresh edges. It was also very fast.

I noticed the ski is very soft, and thats what i wanted but i'm having a hard time doing tail and nose presses/manuals. Not sure if its because i'm pretty skinny (130 lbs) or just don't have enough muscle built up yet. My boots have a decent amount of extra room so i feel my foot move around a lot when i'm trying to flex the ski. This could be the problem. What do you guys think?

Also got bacons in that size, but I'm a bit heavier - 145. Weight is definitely a factor, obviously more weight giving you more moment to throw around. Bacons are super soft, but you still have to commit your weight to a nose or tail butter, and that demands strength. Also boots that are too big are gonna be a bad time- more pain and less control :(

But, lean out too far - fall on your face and ass a few times and have fun with them, they're such fun skis to ride

Hey ;) how are those bindings doing?

boot flex has a lot to do with it as well, I'm a but lighter then you and had 65 flex jr boots last season and couldn't even nosebutter some broken in afterbangs. I would just fold the boot and fall over.
