yo NSmy family and friends are thinking about taking a trip to brazil for the world cup. has anyone ever went to a world cup match? how much do the average ticket cost and is it even possible to get ur hands on a ticket?

I think it is possible to get your hands on a ticket considering I went to two U.S. games in 06 at Germany and two other games it was pretty crazy but get your plan set now

sounds sick! the tickets are fuckin' expensive(cheapest places for like +200usd i imagine) and will most likely be sold out very quickly tho. i would definately to go if i had the money.

I remember I tried to get tickets to the last world cup. You could get a 7 game pack for around 1,000 dollars. I don't know how much it's going to cost this time around. If you have the cash you should go. In the world of sports I don't think anything compares to a World Cup soccer match

i know the experience that anyone would have is worth the money in my opinion i know they go on sale next year a couple months before 2014... me and my friends are really looking into it but we know its going to cost us

it would actually be impossible, as qualifying for the world cup doesn't start for another 9 months.

Tickets shouldn't be too difficult to get, provided you're willing to travel around Brazil quite a bit (usually no more than 1 stadium per city) or don't care what teams you see, in which case you can just hang out in 1 city and go to the same stadium but see different teams.

What dude? THE SUPER BOWL!...

No but my dad went, definitely worth it. Shitty tickets are relatively cheap

some random group match at the beginning will probably very easy to watch.

but to get your hands on a semi-final/final ticket, whhoho, that would need some luck.

we would prob do that stay at 1 stadium and see the different games at that stadium, it would get mad expeisve traveling to the other stadiums and stuff

I'm interviewing for an entry-level accounting position in Sao Paolo next Friday. If I get the position I'd be there for the WC and possibly the Olympics in 2016. Pretty exciting stuff, it'd probably be easier to get a ticket then. Plus I'd get to live in Brazil and could probably (hopefully!) speak the language by then.

Lol at all the Yankees. Noone calls it "soccer" outside the US. It is football. I dont know why you call that super bowl crap football (players throw the ball with hands and rarely kick it ?!?!). i dont like watching af, action is rare. Seems to me like rugby for pussies.

TO: I visited 2 Worldcup matches in 2006, and it was damn intense. If you have the chance, go grab it. It is worth the money. I remember paying 100 Euros per ticket for a good seat during the group stage. Tickets were raffled off. 15 people applicated for each one... I was really lucky getting seats with my family. A place like mine would have cost 600 Euros in the finale. Guess semifinal price was 400 bucks. Take every match you can get :D. The atmosphere was amazing even though it is not comparable to european club matches. It's not worse, just different.

I am a wayyyy bigger fan of football than soccer, and I would still way rather see a world cup final than the superbowl. Just the worldwide intensity and the fact that the teams are representing their countries instead of some city they got stuck in makes it way more exciting, setting wise. I'd guess they are gonna be damn expensive but if youve got the cash you gotta go for it

^youre acting like its the first time you heard the term "soccer". and the only reason you can call football more pussy than rugby is because they where helmets and pads, other than that the hits are harder in football and there is plenty of action, just not non stop.

just to end this right here.

i am from europe and have played american football and "soccer" and i admit that football is not the best term for it, but that just the way it is.

stop the fucking discussion right here. both sports are so different, its not even funny. they have literally nothing in common and rugby and football dont have too much either.

CONCACAF qualifying for the World Cup began this past summer, UEFA doesnt start for another 9 months... don't know about the rest of the world federations

My graduation gift is going to be a plane ticket to Brazil if I get some sort of scholarship. Keepin that GPA high!

True, but the only teams involved so far are the tiny countries that stand no chance. And lets be honest, apart from brazil and argentina, uefa teams are the ones people want to see...

hey hey now, dont diss on Canada and USA now... haha, although I'm pretty willing to accept Canada will get no where near the WC lol. Been to a few of our games and even when we win I walk away appalled at the quality of our national team.

Id love to go to a game but its just an awesome vibe being in the same country at the time of the world cup. I was in Germany in 06 and I didn't go to a single game but they had huge tv's set up everywhere and all the different nations came out. It was an awesome time for sure. Id love to do it again.
