2014/2015 gear thread

Assuming you're talking about it being narrower..... it lost 3mm dude.... you're not gonna notice a difference. It may even float better with the new tip and tail

Regarding the new Bennys floatation

They will float better or the same as the current model without the horizontal rocker.

DPS skis have done horizontal rocker on their lotus and spoon series skis this past season while keeping the dimensions the same as before and they floated marginally better. I think the waist size reduction on the Bennys may cancel out the floatation benefits of the horizontal rocker. But then again, I think a lot of things.

Still though, better floatation is but a secondary benefit of the horizontal rocker.

1. Give us a bit more credit if you think we would design our flagship pow ski to lose floatation... also, do you really think that Chris would want less floatation? Chris wanted a lighter, more maneuverable ski that would float better, slash turns more easily, and obviously butter in pow even better than before.

2. just like a normal ski.

they're definitely completely different than the current model, I got to hold a pair and let me tell you the flex is SOFT, even softer than the invader used to be for comparison...

1) It was just a question, I heard it was going to be narrower

2) I give Atomic a lot of credit and I love them and Chris very much!

3) Good to know

So the rough explanation off the top of my head, and from what I vaguely remember from Marshal Olson's(DPS) contribution to the original spoon thread on TGR 2 years ago.

When you make a turn you lose flotation due to the relation of the planing surface of your ski's to the snow. so like you can't cut butter with the knife flat, but if you turn it on edge there is less surface area, so you can cut through it. If you spoon the edge of the ski you retain surface are in the turn giving you more float through the body of the turn.

That was a real shitty explanation, but it might help.

Made perfect sense. Basically the ski floats better through turns and a hair less when flat on the snow. That's a good thing though, because if the tip and tail can displace snow easier, cliffs, jumps, and jibs into powder will feel softer and smoother yet.

The new traveling circus ski is pretty similar to the blend now that it is wider with more rocker. I wonder if we will be seeing a new blend next year.

^ weird, I thought the sickday line was being replaced by the supernatural line..

For al ON3P fans, you might want to sit down before you read this:

Iggyskier on TGR:

'Will add, though, that the Tychoon, Vicik, Jeronimo, and Caylor are totally gone. Wrenegade and Jeffrey are back, but both different. All tour variants are gone. So a lot of new things to show off. Pretty stoked on how everything is turning out.'

Skied some laps with Bellemare today at keystone and he was rocking next years THalls. Sorry I dont have any pictures but they looked pretty similar to the Pipe cleaners (Im assuming thats what Torin is holding), maybe just a little darker on the graphics, but they had the same yellow "ARMADA" printed up the side.

So true. I'll take the extra weight on in exchange for a little bit of extra support. Looks like fully replaceable soles to.

ya "This new IL Moro will be the KR2 lower with a modified IL Moro/KR2 Pro upper. Dalbello designed the original IL Moro as a park boot but some of their top athlete such as Tanner Hall we still skiing the KR2 Pro so Dalbello decided to create a new boot and this is the result of that project."

this is just a guess but im gonna say the only oother park style boot will be the rampage. because ive seen park athletes such as russ henshaw john ware and a few others sking this one.

So just kind trying to get a feel of an overall opinion in the donator forum, are the changes to the ON3P lineup looking to be for the good?

That dude has style in those Full Tilts... love it

Also am I the only one who thinks those new Bacon graphics look terrible?

No, they're hideous. Opus isn't as bad but they're no where as cool as this year. the bacons and sick days just look so uninspired and genaric
