2014/2015 gear thread

Haha I google searched "Shreditor 136 Powabunga" and that was the only link that came up. Which one's do you think are the Hellbent or Powabunga? Maybe those all green ones?

Thats the only good thing about them, the frames look horrible imo.

The Dragon/Nike APX are seriously everywhere this season though. I always see a few pairs in the park

The first one looks like a smith io, the second one looks like an oakley crowbar, and the third one looks like a zebras asshole.

I loled. Also, they have them with transition lenses..........? The glasses with transitions are cheeseball as fuck IMO, but they might be cool on some goggles. Has anyone else used a transition lens in the past on goggles?

Transition lenses in glasses make you look like you were homeschooled and are probably socially awkward.

That said they are probably awesome for goggles with changing light conditions and variable weather. Way better than having to stop and swap lenses.

This. It's not like wearing sunglasses is weird when you walk into a lodge like it is a school. And I mean it's goggles, they're supposed to be dark. I'd think that transition goggle lenses could be really sick and you could save a lot of time and money with them.

While I agree that a Lens Crafters transition style pair of glasses is pretty cheesy, a high quality photochromic lens in a goggle is the tits. Being able to go from 12% VLT to 60% VLT is fucking awesome when you need it.

Smith, Bolle, and Uvex have photochromatic lenses, they've been around for a few years. I'd love a pair.

The Nike goggles are so ugly though.

EG3 is dope, looks like they will have one of the better designs. The M2 and Doom are sick,. but there is hardly any sort of seal between the lens and frame. They are plastic on plastic which could definitely leak air in.

its 100% the green ones. they are going to run some ads here with the skis green screened out.think:

damn those are sexy

also they are definitely a different take on the sfb topsheet. reminds me a lot of the final ep pro graphic

No kidding! The beast binding just adds to the pornographic level of that setup. Hoji has a perfect sponsorship gig - maybe even the best.

sadly the top sheet isnt as good as it used to be, its gonna be lime green for the launch year

dimensions are 158/136/153 and it follows the Pettitors flex pattern, but it uses bamboo as well as the standard Aspen/Paulownia blend in the Pettitor, its also gonna have a 25m turn radius.

and Its called the Shredditor 136 "Powabunga"

I guess I should have payed more attention to tgr over the past few months. The new ski from Hoji is called the Maven. There's a while thread of info posted to tgr about it.

That would make sense but why the excitement? Its just a new topsheet, something that changes on skis every year anyways. Besides, the al dente was already basically his and Henriks pro model that they shared so it would've been cooler to see torin get it imo

Looks like the Halo2 became Phil's pro ski, nothing looks different from this years Halo besides the graphic

nah, it's actually 30% softer than the halo 2.

oh and whoever took the picture of those bacons took a misleading pic, the actual colors are a lot more earthy than that picture makes them look. It looks really "elegant" (for lack of a better word) in person.

Would like to see a picture of the complete ski, form what I see they are the best looking chets to date.

The base of the shovel would make it look like there's a little bit of the 3D base like the shovel of the DPS spoon. Can anyone confirm or debunk?

. those look clean as fuck. and the convex base in the tip is definitely something i could see benchetler incorporating into his ski.
