2013 Line Chronic

Do you mean different as in color scheme? Like similar to the opus and bacons? If that's what you mean, it's all part of lines minimal waste initiative thingy. So on one ski the base will be primary orange with white lettering. The next set of skis would be the reverse using what they stamped out of the first set. If that makes sense.
 
i mean like some are orange with white then some are white with orange, thats common with all brands but then you see some black and red with orange and it looks different then some red ones, idk its like there isnt a finished product yet
 
Hmmm. Gotcha. Then disregard my earlier statement. As far as I've seen, the orange and white bases are the final product. No one told me that. It's just all I've seen as of late.
 
I was talking to WIll Wesson the other day and he said they made them a little bit wider and much more light by changing the whole core material.
 
Well if they have the same flex pattern and stiffness as the skinny chronics from a few years ago then I want them. I'm still on skinny chronics and I love them. I wouldn't mind a little more width, and a tiny bit of rocker sunds pretty cool in park skis.
 
And does anybody happen to know the lengths they'll come in? I ride 166s and think it's a great length. I'd step up to a low 170 something with rocker though.
 
Will was riding 178s, which was the length of all the prototypes. He said that this is the first year line is making a bigger ski, so all the tall skiers out there like me expect to see something in a 180-190 range. As for you I can almost guarantee they'll probably make a 169 or 171.

line is making a few 192 length skis, but it isn't on one of their park skis. mr. pollards opus and i believe the influence 115 will come in that length

chronic comes in 164 171 178 185 for next year as apposed to this seasons 163 173 178 183

so yes they are making the chronic in the 180 range, but they have been for the last few years, nothing new
 
I guess what I'm concerned in is how they will handle. I was interested in the previous because they are of similar dimensions to the anthem. (which is what I ride now) But I was looking for something that would be more stable/faster. So i'm afraid that the early rise will effect the turning performance/riding switch performance. But at the same time, It sounds like it is a very slight amount. used more for a park pop?
 
ive got the 2013 chronics. they handle very well considering they are early rise tip and tail. also 10% lighter which is noticeable and a huge improvement. a little stiffer than the anthem which is what I had previously. really fun, playful ski. definitely recommend it to anyone who wants to slay park but whats something that'll perform a bit off.
 
These sound sick, I'm on skinny chronics and enjoy them very much and I'm getting into a lot of butter tricks so these sound awesome. I usually would never buy skis the year the come out cause they're so expensive but I might have to grab a set.
 
Thanks for posting that pic, wow those blends look sick. Lightening up the weight on the Chronic I think will make a big difference for the better. Untill my Chronic Cyrpts delaminate or something I cant justify getting a new set, but will be interesting to see them with early rise and caps.
 
its gonna be an awesome ski everyone who see's this post just spend your money to get them tried them out at demo they are the best.
 
Can anyone who has ridden them tell me how stiff twy are compared to the original chronics? i find my og chronics to be a bit stiff
 
they're about the same then if not slightly stiffer, the ski is already pressed for you though so butters are easier.

the raven chronics aren't the original chronics though just an fyi
 
Wow this thread is a mess.

The only difference between this chronic and the 2010 - 2012 is the early rise and the cappedwall. It is very similar to what rossi does, it is NOT what Armada does. It is half sidewall half capped along the entire ski. The sidecut has not changed, and to my knowledge the flex has not changed.

these were the original chronic, came out in the 2004/2005 season, wish they still made em, great ski
 
I believe this to be false, I think the construction of the core has changed to Line's new MacroblockLITE core which uses only aspen in the tip/tail.

As a result I would guess the ski will be slightly softer but the italic bit is just a guess.
 
Just in case anyone still cares, yes they are 10% lighter than they have been in previous years. Most fun ski I have ever ridden hands down in the park.
 
Could be different colours for different sizes...For example, next year's AR7's have the Red "armada" for 161 and 181 and the green for 171 (or maybe the other way round)
 
I keep seeing coherent color bases....do they change the base color depending on size our are they random and just done to save material
