2012 T Halls vs Punx Durability and all around

i cant really speak for the t halls. but the punx are amazing. they hold up well on jumps and rails and i havent had any problems with durability on them. even the top sheet hasnt chipped for me

Yeah you cant go wrong here atomic and armada make absolutely bombproof skis. their skis will last you multiple seasons of heavy use

having skid the ar6 (similar to thalls) and the punx last season, the punx are what i would rather go for. they are incredibly light. i found myself checking every once in a while in the lift if they were still on my feet. super buttery too, even at your weight. however i broke the edges quickly. within 2 days i had maybe 10 edge cracks. i didnt manage breaking even one edge on the ARs.

sparknotes if yo want a softer lighter kicker ski, that is good on groomers and has a minimal swing weight, the punx are for you. if you slay rails all day and like going on groomers and a bit of freshies (since theyre non symmetrical) the ar6 would be my weapon of choice.

hope it helped out.

^They are both really durable. Atomic skis and Armada skis are both made in the same factory, so their quality is basically the same.

i agree, but the edges from the 10/11 punx are only half as thick as the armada edges. the metal is very brittle on my punx. i have alot of cracks after few days shredding. no cracks on ar6s after half a season. so far no edges have ripped out but theres a crack in the base. atomics durability isnt on par with armadas, even though there from the same factory. or maybe i was just unlucky with my pair.

From what I've seen, the thalls are more durable. I have had thalls for the past 4 years and I can say that they are bombproof. I ski mostly rails with them and they both of my pairs still have all their edges and only a couple of edge cracks. From what i've seen with my friend, the punx are a really fun ski and they are soft and light. I don't know if he got a bad pair but in less than a month they were broken and needed to buy an other pair of skis but he decided to change company's cause of what happened.

07-08 T-Halls are still going with 120+ days on them. They're chipped and scratched, but the cores have held despite some people saying they're prone to early rise from heavy landings. Can't speak for Punx, but Armada makes some durable planks.

punx are the funnest ski around hands down. but if your gonna do alot of rails and do decent rail tricks they are not gonna last you for a season. i went through two pairs of 10/11 punx from hitting rails. it rips the edge off from the base right under your foor on the ski and i can get pictures for proof. Also when i was in whistler i talked to chug and to byron about the new ones and chugs been riding the same pair since january and byron was having the same problems i was. I cant speak for T-Halls but my old Ar6's were bombproof.

YEa the same thing happened to me and my friend. Sounds like a common problem. My edges held up pretty well though. Still punx are easily my favorite ski, they are so fun and light. They suck outside the park though so keep that in mind

I should also point out that the edges on the 2012 Atomic Punx are thicker than previous years. It will potentially solve the edge issue.

The ar50 construction on the Thalls will make them chip alot less than the punx. If you want a cheaper ski check out the ar7 from armada, exact same ski just slightly stiffer. Both are durable but I had friends with both this past season and I would have to say the Armadas held up better. Good luck because you really can't go wrong with either

Any of those ski are a great choice. I would just go with my gut because you cant go wrong with one of them.
