2012 suspects

dont hate on the suspects if you know nothing about them. Their are much less issues with this year's suspect, but with any park ski that you take on rails there is always a chance for edge cracks. The 2012 suspects have edge armor. This does not protect from cracks but it does help to prevent the edge from pulling out if it does crack

my brother has the 2012 suspects and has had no problems with them so I would recommend them.I would not recommend the 2011 suspects.

My friend has suspects (2012) and he says they're really good but really heavy and stiff. For what you ride, don't get them

they will not change anything. They are a very good ski while they last, but they don't last long. If you don't ride very hard then you could get them if you want, but don't expect them to last too long

I would never get the 2011 ones. But i hear the 2012 suspects have tons of new technolegies in them to keep the edges in and make them more durable. also i heard they are being built in a new factory.

I ride on the suspects i have no edge cracking , but a lot of top sheet chipping , considering your description I don't think suspects are a good choice for you though

why did you even ask about them if you are set on buying them? I know quite a few people who have had salomon, and none of them survived the season other than the pro pipes, and they do not have edge armour. It does not work.

I will once again vouch for Suspects. I have...drum roll please...2011 suspects. GASP. Been riding them this season. Not only are they fast, stable, and enjoyable, but after some warranty voiding abuse, such as hitting walls, trees, the occasional rock, and somewhere around 50 rails (but I though suspects spontaneously combusted when they touched a railing??!!?), I have yet to see any real damage. Not even more than some scratches on the topsheet.

90% of negative reviews on the Suspects are from young kids who hate them because they aren't manufactured by some indie brand. They are fantastic and I'd highly recommend them. If you don't like my opinion, you may feel free to suck my wang.

If you have ever watched any old ski vids you will see guys riding the 1080, the suspect is the same ski except the 1080 has a foam core whilst the suspect has a wooden one.

edge armor is the exact reason that suspects suck. you just proved that you yourself know nothing about the suspects.

how does extra technology that improves the ski make it bad. I have the suspects and did a ton of research on them and i would say they are one of,if not the, best all mountain park ski you can get.

edge armour simply does not work, it is a technology that would be great if it worked but, sadly it doesn't. I have seen suspects break around 5 times, whereas I have only seen one pair of surfaces break, suspects have bad construction and the suspect is mainly used by either pros or experts as a comp ski, or beginners who saw bobby brown in the x-games

my 2011 suspects are still holding up after a season, you have your chips and what not from rails and shit but honestly they are a perfectly fine ski

bash all you want on these skis to make yourself feel better on the internet, but coming from someone with personal experience these skis are fine

pretty much the same as the 2011's just diff graphics and tweaked a lil for more durability.

honestly if you like the skis go for them, im sure you will be very happy with your purchase

well..... salomon is a larger brand than surface? maybe it's more common that people are skiing suspects than surface skis ? that explains everything then..and all skis will break if you are railing with them!

I guess most of the people who says that the suspect sucks and so on haven't really tried them. they have just listened to what someone else said..

the suspect was one of the best park skis 2010/2011, isn't that strange when it "sucks"? that maybe also explains why you have seen more people break suspects than surface?

About the ski ,suspects are stiff but with alot of pop. It's stable because of the stiffness and it's not that heavy. I think it's about 1750g@171cm.

I know a lot of people with Surfaces, I have a pair myself as well. I actually know as many people with no times or double times as i know people with suspects. I have seen suspects edges fall apart in a week, I've seen the tails snap and break, and i've seen top sheets go to shit after a day of riding, so I am not making an unfounded argument. I know people who have had durability issues with surface before, but not to the extent as with suspects. My friend has Pro-pipes and they lasted a season, and are still pretty good now, but pro-pipes have no edge armour and monocaque so the top sheets don't get chipped up quite as easily and the edges are actually more durable. I haven't had issues with my Watch Lifes yet, except for a core shot, but that was because I dropped a small cliff and hit a rock, so that was my own fault. I am not saying suspects ski bad, they ski great, I am saying that they are not very well built, and therefore, not very durable.

Edge armor does work. It does not however, make your edge invincible. The point of edge armor is not to prevent cracking. The point is to prevent the edge from pulling out if it does crack.
