2012/2013 Showdown Thread!

really hope to make it up there this year. theres a sweet forest service cabin right across the hiway that ive stayed at in the summer. need to book it this winter
 
Word is they are moving the park this year to the Mizpah Race Hill (right underneath the first 1/4 of the triple chair). And they also claim there is going to be "natural" features in the trees between the existing park and the Race Hill. Either way I am very stoked to see something new. Anyone who goes and and wants to ride, hit up this thread and we will try to show you a good time. Going to try to get up 2 times a weekend but since I have a house and grown up duties, every Sunday is most likely the day I will ski every weekend.
 
Yaaah! So stoked for the season! The park should be pretty cool this year on Mizpah.

Also, if you guys are in Great Falls on the 5th of December come to the TSP Premiere! I believe I will be MC'ing.
 
me and tjski live in great falls, and we are planning on making it to the tsp premiere! thats awesome you are mc'ing, I work at the radio Station here in town and im wondering if you guys are doing any promotion for it?? something to think about.

Super stoked for the season fellas! hopefully less work this year will let me be up more so then last, what a bummer that was.
 
what are ticket sales going towards? the reason i ask, if its going towards you class or ski club or something of that sort. you can call STARadio at 761-2800 and ask for troy and psa info. and we will talk about it for free on the radio :)
 
Hell yeah dude, ill be there. Last years TSP Premire in Great Falls was fun. If any NSers are down for a few beers before/after the Premire that would be cool too. Considering you are of age, haha.

Yeah, they definitely need more snow. But they didn't start out with much more snow last year either and it ended up being ok.
 
Well Showdown will be opening this Friday Dec. 7th! Get them rock skis out and make games like "Can you clear this rock patch?" to make it fun! No terrain park this first opening week due to lack of snow, but hopefully next week. Pray for snow!
 
Stoked. I'll be there tomorrow and saturday. Depending on my homework situation sunday as well. Definitely down to take a few runs if you guys are interested. Also.. congrats on winning two things last night, haha
 
For sure dude! Yeah we gave everything in the package prize to our pals, so we didn't feel too bad.. Haha.. But I'm always wearing my green pants and brown and white coat. Unless its hot, then ill wear a flannel. Ski up and we'll hit a few runs.
 
Gosh I can't believe that! Haha I was scared to go grab the second prize so Bronson did for me. But I really needed a new board! And it's free so what the hay. Superrrr stoked for this weekend! I will be with tjski probably or the bar... Haha
 
Such a sick opening weekend! Powder was everywhere! Also they thinned out some trees where the old poma lift was on the side of big 7. It made for a nice new run for the most part. So stoked for the season. This weekend I'm going to be shredding some back country by GNP if everything pans out.
 
rainbow and 5' (or so it seems) flat is set up as of last weekend. I'm assuming there will be more this weekend.
 
I am very impressed with what is up for park features right now at SD. This is comparing it to what usually is up by this time of year. Right now they have:

-small flat rail

-up rail

-15ish foot table

-20ish foot table

-rainbow box

-down flat down rail

-flat rail

All were set up pretty decent this last weekend but there was also a competion in the park this last weekend as well. So we will see if they keep up with maitenence. But overall it flows decent actually. You no longer have to hit a feature then ski across the run to hit the next Haha.
