It's meteor shower time again BUT since a full moon will occur during the peak time only the stronger meteors will be seen (from what I've read). Usually you'll be able to see around 60 meteors/ minute but expect less because of the moon.

Read some more here: http://earthsky.org/astronomy-essentials/earthskys-meteor-shower-guide

Gonna go outside soon and try to get some shots but the weather is pretty cloudy here and tonight or tomorrow seems to be my only chances to see it.

This is all meteors I got last year (some satellites too) Hopefully I'll get a few this year too.

So stoked. I'll be camping at Sebago Lake in Maine at that time and its supposed to be clear skys!! FINALLY. And.... minimal light pollution aside from the moon!

Anyone else going to be at Sebago lake the 12th-14th?

It is a really bad year for seeing the meteors. The moon is gonna be basically full so there will be a lot of light at night. I posted an article about it this morning.

Oh snap! I only checked the first 2 pages for similar threads, should've checked the third too..
