2011 Line Afterbangs (cool, not cool?)

Importance of features on skis
1.everything other than graphics
2.graphicsThey are the same as last years so do some research and come to a conclusion

They are the exact same ski as this years..and they are sick. As far as the graphic goes (not that it really matters too much, but to some people it does), if you didn't like this years you're not going to like next years cause they are pretty much the same design, but slightly different with different colors.

Is this fucking serious? Why would you ever buy skis based on how cool they are? Buy them because you like them.

As far as I know, afterbangs are shit outside of park riding.

Sorry for the hijack, but I need some advice from the savvy NS community.
I'm a crap skier in the park. 3's are my limit (at the moment) and I hardly go near boxes/rails. Goal is to have backs/fronts and 540s locked down this season. I'm a decent skier in the BC and on the groomers. At the moment I'm riding 176cm Chronics, and I love them. Super stable and so easy to charge with, yet I can still have fun in any conditions with 'em. I love all types of skiing and go everywhere.
However, I'm more and more enjoying just mucking around at lower speeds popping off little lips and natural features. I really want to learn to butter (tried on the chronics but they're too stiff and my talent is too soft). And get into presses/taps/other fun shit. I'm aware a lot of this is easily achievable on the chronics, but I'm guessing A-bangs would make it easier.
I've been offered a pre season deal on some 2011 177cm afterbangs (after a bit of negotiation). I can get them with the new marker squire (din 3-11) for $960NZ. That package over here retails for $1250.
Now I've never skied afterbangs but I'm pretty confident I'll love a second set of playful skis. Should I demo a set before committing to a purchase?
I ski less than 20 days a year and that includes no urban and very little boxes/rails as mentioned.
Is there a different ski/binding package I should be looking at?
Keep in mind that down here we only get the mainstream brands, volkl, k2, Line, 4frnt, Dynastar, Nordica Rossignol, Salomon etc. No moment, surface or the likes.
I'm 6'2" and 72kg (160ish lbs)
Any and all advice appreciated from people who know their shit. +K

you should keep your chronics for groomers and park and get a second set of skis for playful jibbing and more pow/ off piste stuff. 189 surface one lifes would be good. really fun just screwing around/ jibbing on natural rollers, bumps and shit, yet they still slay pow and can charge in some crud

I have this years 177's and i love them, the graphics are sick, but thats a +, all i wanted was peoples input on what they thought of the new graphics, and if the changed anything as far as pop or stiffness on them, thats all, and i know they suck outside of park, i own them bud

i agree the anthems are the king of park skis for line all the way around jumps and rails

the afterbangs are straight rails and urban not jumps at all

haha, of course they have side cuts... are the bacons the new line skis with the skate deck construction but stiffer than the afterbangs coming out next year? is that the name? bacon?

I'd stick with 2010 abangs just cause the desing of the ski is the same you will get them for cheaper only think is the graphics are different so save money and get 2010's if you dont like any of the graphics its wood use spray paint or wait like a month for the paint to come off (not dissing the abang its a awsome ski just saying it does come off pretty easy) so thats how u should make ur desision!

last years dont warp... so no, these will not warp, unless you leave your skis in a puddle outside your house your 2010's might have warped, and if you do so with the 2011's they might warp as well... these took four years to get right, there not going to warp.

THIS! I wonder if I send in my warped 2010's they'll give me 2011's...? Cause they def fucked up with the warp issue..

That's probly because kids do not know how to ski. No ski is "shit out of the park" if you know how to ski.

hahahh....

don't EVERVERVERVEVERVERVERVEEVEREVER buy skis or any equipment that effects your performance by the way it fucking looks... If you had to get a car, would you rather have..

a car that looks mustang, but in the inside it is a complete shitcockbox that terds every time you turn it on

or a suburu that works fairly well?
