It would seem that there's enough support on here to have a thread devoted to it. The annual Champions league thread does well enough, so why not?

And the Arsenal takes on Newcastle in 20 minutes.

I absolutely love the first day of the season...a clean slate for everyone.
 
Larsson's volley was unreal so happy Liverpool tied but I can't stand the diving rabbit Suarez. Pisses me off all he does is dive.

Same to Gary Cahill's strike, not bad for a defender.

joey barton needs to fucking quit or die. He's an absolute thug. Would feel more at home in an alleyway mugging people than on the pitch.

Ridiculous red card for gervinho. Apparently not getting a foul in the box, then having barton attack you means you get sent off.
 
Biased gooners, in no way was that a foul Gervinho was making the best out of nothing. We all know Joey has temper but you can't expect to get away with hitting someone in the face?
 
the foul was questionable as they never really showed a proper replay of just that, so i can't say for sure. I thought there was some contact that threw him off balance.

So barton can grab you, haul you up and then not let go while he yells in your face, and yet a tap on the head brings him down? Face it, he's a fucking cunt and absolutely no one watching this game can deny that he should have been sent off as well. It was a case where if one goes, the other should have as well. There was no innocent party.

in truth neither side really deserved to win it. First week of the season never reflects on how good the squad is going to be though, no one is properly in shape and such.

I don't see how people don't complain about Suarez, if there's one thing I hate its diving, the stupid rabbit fucker flops like a fish everytime hes touched.

But even after all the Twitter crap and temper, Barton still manages to find himself in the starting 11 of a respectable team.

i chose arsenal because i like the way they play their football. i hate people who dont pass and arsenal play some of the best passing football in the country.

and im complaining about barton because he cheats so much and never gets fully punished by the league, and he's got away with a small punishment yet again.
 
Newcastle is not a respectable team; they will be fighting to avoid relegation this year. Joey Barton is a piece of shit. As an Arsenal fan, the main negatives that I take away were that Gervinho didn't hit Barton hard enough and that Song didn't break his leg on that stomp. How Barton didn't get sent off baffles me.

newcastle were a respectable team, and the majority of the players are still decent. But regardless of all that, joey barton is still a cunt, and most likely would not be in the starting 11 of any top team. It's a shame because when they were trying to get promoted and for the start of last season it looked like he had really turned things around. But nope. And he almost certainly would fail if he ever played outside of england.
 
What's your point? Most of your comments in this thread don't make any sense. Firstly, you defend Joey Barton for some reason who undoubtedly is the worst disciplined player in the EPL and has multiple assault charges to his name. This isn't an isolated incident with him; the man is a fucking joke. It's not just Arsenal fans who hate him, everyone hates him.

Secondly, you call someone out for being a front-runner for choosing to support Arsenal while admitting that you are a Chelsea fan. Any Chelsea supporter that I know didn't start liking the club until Roman took over. I imagine you fit into this category.

My point was argue against Barton all you want Gervinho deserved to be sent off (so did Barton).

I agree that Gervinho should have been sent off. I just don't understand how you can say he is a good player. He goes out to break legs and start fights.

I was born just outside of Fulham (where Stamford Bridge is located which is near the town of Chelsea) and raised there for years until moving to Canada.

So you can politely fuck-off before you tell me I jumped on the bandwagon when Abramovich arrived.

 
I jumped to conclusions because he was making fun of someone for supporting Fulham, and my conclusion was probably right as judging from his comments he knows shit all about football.

I've played football for ten seasons for the same club

I have supported arsenal my whole life and watch every single one of their games on tv or I go to the matches.

I'm British, I grew up in a football town. My upper school has a football academy. I play for my school team.

So I don't know shit about football.
